I guess I'd be a hero, With sword and armor clashing
Looking semi dashing, A shield within my grip
Dean was staying at the Roadhouse with Sam while they were in between cases. He sat at the bar with Jo across from him, her eyes on a little girl. Dean looked over his shoulder and smiled. The little girl had her brunette hair curled and was wearing a small yellow ball gown with Belle's face on a pendant on the chest. Jo sighed, and propped her chin in her hand, and Dean smiled.
"Thinking of the good ole' days," he teased.
Jo shook her head. "Ya know," she smiled, "Ariel was my favorite princess as a kid."
Dean smiled. "You don't say?"
Jo rolled her eyes and nodded. "Come on, Dean. Every kid had a hero."
"Yeah," Dean laughed, "and yours was a fish."
"Hey!" Jo protested. "She kicked butt. She saved her prince."
"The guy was unconscious for half the movie!"
Jo smiled. "So, you've seen The Little Mermaid?" That made Dean shut his mouth. "Who was your hero as a kid, Dean?"
"My dad," Dean replied.
Jo shook her head. "Before that, Dean. You were four years old. Come on, who was it? Superman? Batman? Oh, God, not Spiderman, right?"
So yes I'd be a hero, and if my wish was granted
Life would be enchanted, or so the stories say.
"Prince Charming," Dean sighed, taking a sip of his beer. Jo smiled. "I used to run around the house in a plastic set of armor, and my mom would hide somewhere in the house, and…"
"You'd rescue her," Jo smiled. "That's adorable."
Dean nodded. "It was our favorite game. Sometimes Dad and I would duel…"
Jo's smile widened. "Wish I had been there. Prince Dean, has a nice ring to it."
Dean shook his head. "You can't tell anyone, Jo."
Jo smiled, "Don't worry, Deano. Your secret's safe with me." A customer across the room caught her attention and Jo left to do her job, leaving Dean at the bar with his thoughts, and a half full beer bottle.
Of course I'd be a hero, and I would scale a tower
And save a hot-house flower, and carry her away
But standing guard would be a beast, I'd somehow over whelm it,
I'd get the girl, I'd take my breath, and I'd remove my helmet.
Hours passed and all too soon, Jo was locking up the Roadhouse with Dean still sitting at the bar. After locking the door, Jo moved past him into the kitchen and Dean stood up, following her. She was taking off her apron when he came up behind her. She turned and gasped as they were inches apart.
"What's up, Prince Charming," she teased, looking into his emerald green eyes. Without another word, Dean took hold of her chin and kissed her. Jo smiled, and wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling herself closer. Slowly, they both pulled back, smiles on both of their faces.
"Carry me away, Prince Charming," Jo whispered as Dean picked her up bridal style and carried her to her room.
We'd stand and stare, we'd speak of love, we'd feel the stars ascending
We'd share a kiss, I'd find my destiny
I'd have a hero's ending, a perfect happy ending.
