"Jess, are you sure you want to do this?" Angela, my best friend, gripped my shoulder as we waited for him.
"Duh, Ang, why wouldn't I," I rolled my eyes and continued walking on. "Anyway, he can't say no." I smiled confidently; Angela sighed and relaxed her pace.
"Well here's your chance, Edward Cullen is walking towards the entrance. Good Luck, Jess!" Angela covered her head with a binder and scuttled back indoors. I peeked to make sure she didn't trip, and then turned my gaze back to the ultimate prize. His honey tinted hair was perfectly groomed as he and his adopted siblings waltzed like a graceful supermodel, which he probably was. I hustled over to him splashing in puddles along the way.
"Umm, Edward can I talk to you?" I timidly inquired him.
"Sure," he looked at the others and they quickly left. "Do you need the history homework?"
"No, " I stared at his pale face, he knew it already, shaking my head I took a deep breath and realigned my eyes with his. "I was wondering if you wanted to hang out some time." I casually twisted a strand of hair around my finger, trying to evaluate his expression.
"Sorry, Jessica, but no, I have to focus on my studies." He replied in his beautiful voice.
"You have all A's, and you never even take notes in class. That's impossible." I stared at him.
"Look Jessica, I just don't like you." He annunciated each word separately, though it hurt even more. I could feel the tears welling up, my confident reply to Angela seemed like history. I looked at him and turned back. He stayed there with a blank expression. I kept my head down and let the water go down my face. Angela stood at the door she peered at my face and gave me a hug.
"He said 'no' didn't he." She whispered. I nodded as we strolled to the bathroom. Angela gave me tissue after tissue till I stopped. I quickly reapplied my make-up before the bell rang. We sprinted to homeroom, barely made it. I quietly settled in to a seat.
"Hey Jess!" Mike Newton greeted me cheerfully. I turned to him; I had never really noticed Mike before. We sat at the same table but rarely talked alone. I peered at his face for a second.
"Hi," I replied to my new crush.
