A/N- Try and see if you can figure out who this is before the last stanza, and no looking at the characters!

Good Things Never Last

The smell of shampoo

A lone lock of hair

A man by himself

A pain he can't bear

His face towards the sky

A downpour of rain

Lost in his memories

Of love and of pain

A beautiful girl

His name on her lips

Graceful and strong

His hands on her hips

A night in her arms

A year by her side

An eternity of love

A passion they can't hide

A plan was hatched

With dire consequence

Kept secret, kept safe

As love's only chance

A secret, a wedding

A woman, a bride

A furious father

With thrice-shattered pride

Exiled and outcast

Traveling by night

Haunted by dreams

And a forgotten birthright

A quest has begun

Nine men, one task

A ring is destroyed

For peace that would last

But still he is haunted

By future, by past

Arwen is gone now

Good things never last.
