Chapter 1

"Wow, Hitomi is simply dazzling today."

"You say that everyday."

Well, maybe I think she's dazzling everyday!"

"You know she'll never go out with you; she has never gone out with anyone."

"I know, but I can dream."

"Yeah, you and the other kajillion kids in Tokyo."

"Not for long."

"How's that?"

"Didn't you hear? She's doing a foreign exchange to America."

"Really?"

"Yup."

"Never thought I live to hear the day, Hitomi Kanzaki gave up her thrown at Miynoki High."

Hitomi's reddened cheeks puffed up and down as she ran into numerous potholes. "Damn it!" she screamed as her bike hit yet again another pothole. She jumped off the red Mongoose and threw it as hard as she could into the nearest pothole, which wasn't very far.

Angrily, Hitomi ran the two mile distance back to the foreign exchange home she was staying at. When she arrived, she slammed the door back on its hinges, and stormed in yelling, "Mr. Coppell! Mr. Coppell!" Finally she found him in the laundry room…doing laundry.

Hitomi laughed in spite of herself until Mr. Coppell asked her what was so funny. "Nothing, it's just that at first I thought you didn't have a chamber maid!" She continued to laugh whole heartedly.

"Um, a chamber maid?" replied Mr. Coppell, intrigued.

"Never mind," Hitomi started to walk away and then turned around again as she remembered why she had come to talk to him in the first place. "Mr. Coppell, I need a new bike okay? This time, how about a black Mongoose with 21 speeds?" She brushed her hand and him and resumed leaving.

"Hitomi?" he answered weakly.

"Yeah?" she turned her head a tiny bit in his direction.

"We, um, really can't afford a new bike for you right now…"

"What?!?" shrieked Hitomi. Then, thinking better of pursuing this matter, she ran back out the door and to where she had thrown her bike. Of course, it was gone.

The next day was Monday, and her first day of American High School. Her outfit had to be perfect:  White spaghetti strap stretch tee, pink button up sweater, darker pink jacket with pink animal print fluffs on the neck and arms, a powder pink jean skirt and thigh high hot pink boots.

Just as she was going to go into the bathroom to do her hair, a slight knock came at the door. It was Mrs. Coppell. "Here Hitomi, sweetie," she cooed softly, holding a small package. "A little present for the first day of school in America." She smiled, handed the box to Hitomi, and closed the door.

Hitomi fell back onto her bed, and tore open the box. Inside laid a dark blue miniskirt, a black miniskirt, a loose fitting woman's tuxedo shirt, thigh high white socks, character shoes, a dark blue tie and a dark blue blazer. After taking out all of these "horrible" clothes, Hitomi noticed a note in the bottom of the box. It read:

Hitomi-

Here is your new American school uniform! We got as many colors as we could afford to buy you. There are plaid skirts and blazers available, but I thought you'd like the dark blue and plaid better. Hope you enjoy your nice new uniform and school!!

Lots of Love,

Mr. and Mrs. Coppell

Xoxoxo

"There is no way this school expects me to wear this…" she whispered to herself. She re-read the note from the Coppell's; one word stuck in her mind as she dressed herself in the new "stylish" outfit.

…Uniforms…

"This school is going to be a lot tougher than I thought…" Hitomi had only begun her fun transition into the ways of American teenagers.

AN: Hehe, hope you enjoyed! The next chapter is more fun-filled, and it is also a going to make you laugh really hard, kind of chapter. Here's a quick preview of it one sentence: Hitomi meets the Chickas. R&R please!!
