Rain... All that he feels is the rain and the wind whipping his hair around his face, obscuring his vision slightly. James Buchanan Barnes walks alone, not knowing where he is going. He has been walking for a few hours with nothing but the glow of the street lamps to guide his way. With no destination in mind, his feet trudge forward on the damp pavement as one thought lingers in the back of his mind... A memory threatening to emerge, forcing it's way into the open. A face that flashes in his mind momentarily, bringing a state of comfort and warmth. The type of warmth that makes the wind stop blowing and his past melt away.
The face had soft wheat-blond hair and a thin face. The face is smiling, but there is an aura of weakness that is attached to it. Even though it seems feeble, you can see that the face isn't one to turn away from a fight. There is suffering behind those glacier-blue eyes, eyes that have seen so much. The face has a set of thin, pink lips and a button nose.
As he was walking, he allowed his feet to guide him to an unknown force. He wandered with his hood pulled over his head along a path that he has never seen before. He keeps his mind attached to this one thought as the rain seems to poor down endlessly. Minutes pass like seconds as he finds himself on a porch connected to an unknown house. The light emanation from the house is faint, the illumination leads him to the door. Absentmindedly, he watches his hand move slowly to the door and gently taps a few times. There was a rustling sound inside and to his surprise, the door creaked open to reveal a tall, muscular figure. A look of shock immediately passed over the figure's face. The stranger's eyes widened as he stared at the man in front of him.
The stranger opened his mouth and said only one word...
"Bucky?"
