A/N: So this is really just a thought which came out of nowhere...it probably only makes sense in my own brain, so...I hope you enjoy. Actually, strike that. I hope you understand.

One and the other

Have you ever wondered?

Two brothers who were masters.

The world was their oyster, one could say. They were unique - only they looked at the world the way they did.

Both practised in the Science of Deduction.

Have you ever wondered why one climbed to the height of society, having anything and everything, while the other clung to the lower end, unable to afford an apartment? Oh yes, one revelled in it, and the other didn't want anything else - he was quite content, but still... Have you ever wondered how each ended up as they did? How they ended up so differently to each other, although they were so similar?

Why, even though they were unique - only they looked at the world they way they did. Why?

I will tell you why.

One understood how the rest of the world worked. And the other pretended that he didn't.

A/N: Confused? I am very sorry. If you are I would suggest mulling over the last line...that was the main idea behind this drabble. If you have any questions please do drop me a PM or review. I would also love to hear (read) your thoughts, even if it is a complaint that I have lowered the IQ of the whole street by opening my mouth. (Or more appropriately, typing the words in my mind.)
