Bella POV

Strolling down the street to Alice's place was worth the time, the beautiful smell of everything green. Tree trunks covered in moss, the ground covered with gorgeous ferns. The cold breeze making the air lighter and comforting, making me hold onto my jacket and cozying in. This was our morning routine for the summer, I'd go past her place and she'd wait outside her parent's car garage. We'd be off to work at the café, four blocks down from Alice's street. We preferred to walk, it was close and we'd save petrol. I'm only two streets down from Alice's place so no biggie, I could handle it. Walking was a good thing so I'd embrace it while I still could.

It was my choice for Alice and I to look for holiday jobs, it would be a fun experience, we'd make cash and we'd have referees in the future and it would brighten up our university applications. Alice and I also volunteered down at the dog shelter and down at Adopt A Cat Shelter And Store. We also held fundraisers for twice a month for things that people had given away like antiques, clothes and jewelry. Money made is split between the Dog Shelter, Adopt A Cat Shelter And Store for a first day of fundraising and with the Old Age Home and Orphanage in Port Angeles for the second day of the months fundraising money earned – where we volunteer four times a month – on Fridays and Wednesdays.

"Hey Bella!" Alice greeted while running up to me and giving me a soft and tiny hug. See, Alice is really short and has a petite body. She has Spiky Pixie hair that makes her seem mysterious and enchanting.

I gave her a tight squeeze before letting her go and we took our usual ten minute walk to the café. Alice is naturally a talkative person but today she seemed to be glued to her phone, making today's walk a whole lot more serene and rapid too. What was most shocking were the girly giggles coming from her, whoever made her this happy were worth the chat. Whoever it was, it was definitely worth the waiting of founding out who it is. I wonder if it's a guy, anyway, she'd tell me in due time, but that doesn't mean I can't prey a little.

"Someone Special?" I asked while grinning at her inquisitively and stopping for a while.

"Wh-at?"She glanced up for two seconds seeming puzzled and a little too engaged with her phone.

"Okay, never mind. We'll talk about it next time," I smiled at her while patting hair pixie-spiky hair.

I knew she'd be reluctant on replying so she nodded and we walked in silence to work. Alice is my best friend of four years; she's like a sister to me. We've been through a lot together no-one understands me the way she does and vice versa. Alice lives with both her parents and are quite wealthy for them to be leaving in such a small town, Alice thinks it's because of the peaceful-eerie-silence that her mom adores and says it's the perfect place for her painting and drawings. Well, I think it's the love her parents have for a small-secluded town with loving friends that seem like family to them. Alice's mom is also a well-known talented artist and her father owns a few companies in New York thus making him a very successful businessman. Her parents always fly out to check on things and sell some paintings and drop of a few new ones, once in a while. We usually have sleepovers on the days her parents are out of town.

School is really the most awful place to be on occasions where I see The F4 Boys and their little skank, Rosalie Hale. She's not really a skank but with her being blond, who knows what she does behind closed doors. School starts next week and it will be most likely for the F4 Boys to pick on a few other kids. This time I just hope it's not me, yeesh! Over-grown bullies. They were extremely popular and people tried to get in their clique but would usually end up being humiliated. Mostly girls trying to get in their pants and surprisingly Rosalie had stuck. So that leaves the other three and boy, did they play you like a basketball, those girls never seemed to learn and they'd always come back for more. I chose to keep my distance and play it safe, not that either four of them noticed me before or should I say three of them now. It's hard to believe anyone of them would change. Rosalie hangs out with no-one else but the crew, if their absent she's absent but there's 'usually' relevant excuses, which is another story for another day.

"Bella?" Alice called out as soon as we reached the café.

"Yeah, what's up?" I asked as I put my apron and hair net on and dumped my bags in my locker.

She put her phone in the front pocket of her dark-blue apron and smiled up at me, "Ress, thinks we should meet up for lunch before school starts," she said with a little enthusiasm for my liking, Thank God it wasn't shopping or she would have been squealing non-stop, "She says it would help her about being the new girl. You know, calm her down and help her relax a little!"

"Um, okay! When?"

"Saturday at nine a.m." she replied while walking over to the cash box and leaning on the counter.

"Don't you think that's a little too early for lunch? Y'all ain't planning anything now are you?" I raised my eyebrow in suspicion.

"Noooo," she laughed, "And don't do that eyebrow thingie-majigie, It makes you look evil,"

"Fine," I said not sure what I was replying to. The lunch thing or the eyebrow thing. Well, whatever! Lunch can't be that bad.

I let Alice be and walked up to the door sign and changed it to 'open' and a few customers started to pile in. You see, the café got really full. The Cook, Heline, made the best noodles and round about the best of everything in town. The Diner five streets away also got pretty full.

I walked off to a table to give the customers at table two, three and five the breakfast menu since someone was clearly late. Jessica hardly pitched on time and I've been trying to get Trevor, our manager, to get two more waiters or waitresses since it really got full and I don't think two waiters or waitresses could handle twelve tables and six booths all on their own especially at lunch and just before closing time. And when one of us is at lunch break and we have to handle the hurd of hungry lions on our own. He'd just reply 'get me two reliable waiters or waitresses and it's a done deal but until then handle it besides you get hood tips, it's just for the holidays until the full-time workers come back from their leave when you and your lovely Alice go back to school' he'd say with his annoying Mexican accent.

Lunch was a little too hectic for my liking. Although I make a lot of tips and Alice would help out the best she could while making sure the cash box is well ... organized, with her being the cashier. It really was annoying. Whilst Heline was the cook, Aline and Daisy did all the dish washing and hardly had time to lend a helping hand too. They had it tough too but at least they could handle it together, the café had a lot of cutlery and kitchen utensils but we still had to keep it clean. The whole café was cleaned every afternoon after closing time which took us a few minutes with Aline, Daisy, Jessica, Alice and I's doing. Heline didn't have to help we had it under control. Just like us, Aline and Daisy were here just for the holidays and they were sophomore buddies whilst we were juniors.

It was fun working at the café but not so much when we were under pressure. When the other employed workers were here it was a whole lot easier since there was three cleaners, four waiters and waitresses, three dishwashers and two cashiers respectively. They had it so much better and easier but I kind of get Trevor's little obsession on finding the right 'reliable' workers, we definitely don't want another 'Jessica' on board. It just makes things seem a whole lot worse.

Things had quieted down a little after a lunch, only a few kids came in for milk shakes and Heline's amazing triple chocolate chip muffins and Velvety Blue- berry muffins. The café was a really warm place where one could relax and chill. The food was great, it was warm and smelt divine. You would not be able to pass by without trying something out.

I ordered my usual French fries and Cola for lunch, I was on lunch break and it wasn't really packed and Jessica could handle this little crowd for an hour. I payed for my meal by Alice and went to a booth near the window and ate my lunch. I hadn't realized I was quite peckish and took a bite of Heline's special saucy fries and I began to eat them hungrily.

I emptied my tray and cleaned my table and sat back down since I had forty more minutes till my lunch break was over. I sipped some of my cola and folded my hands on the table and lay my head down deciding to take a quick nap.

I felt a tap on my shoulder and literally panicked thinking I'd slept through my lunch break – which has never ever happened before and shot up quickly in shock, eyes closed, waking from a dreamless sleep and knocking my Cola of the table sending it flying to the person who had tapped my shoulder and landing right in the middle of his crotch. I had opened my eyes for a while. I turned bright red and prayed to the dear lord that it wasn't Trevor. I closed my eyes again. I was surprised when I opened one eye.

Here stood one of my worst night mares. Clutching his hands into rolled fists on his side and clenching his jaw which made him seem like an avenging angel with his golden-brown glowing hair.

"Stupid Retard! I hope they don't pay you for actually sleeping around like some deranged mutt!" he snarled at me while I grabbed some serviettes and was about to help him wipe when I realized where I would be wiping and decided to take the easy way out and hand them over to him.

I also realized what he said and it had sounded really mean. "I'm so sor-"

He cut me off with the wave of his hand and began to wipe the stain that had began to turn a little yellow making it seem like pee on his light-blue denim jeans. "I don't need your useless apology. What's done is done. Expect a dry cleaning bill. Now, do your job and take me and my friends orders!"He glared at me with hateful eyes.

I wanted to scream out: 'but your bloody rich. Your mother's even a house wife' – she can wash it ... But I held back. Bring the bill, I'll wash those pants myself and if they lose colour ... It ain't my fault.

I scrambled to stand up and was about to let him take me to their table when I realized I still had twenty minutes of my lunch break left.

I looked up at one of the lousy F4 boys and smirked at him, "I'm on lunch break I'm sure the other waitress on duty will be more than happy to help you!"

Goldie locks – zero; Bella – one

I was about to sit down when he said something that was insulting and had a really valid point, but was absolutely rude.

"I'm not sure if you're blind or just really stupid ... Do you see the other waitress here," he stated more than asked.

"But –" he cut me off with the wave of his had again.

"Uh Uh Uh," he said while wiggling his pointing finger as if his reprimanding a three year old, "The customer is always right!" he smirked at the end.

"You kno –" I began when I realized that's what he wanted me to do so he could complain too the manager.

Dang! Goldie locks – three; Bella – negative three

Although I really didn't have to work here, I still need the referees. I didn't want to seem like a work rebel.

I took six lunch menus to the table where there was the newest addition right next to Goldie-locks, Tanya, I see she's back for more? Jeez, it makes her seem like she enjoys getting dumped.

"Welcome to Exclusive Café! Here are your menus just wave to me and I'll be back to take your orders!" I plastered a fake smile on my face.

They all nodded, "Sure thing pee pants," Goldie locks said while tempting me to say shit at his face.

Yeesh! He thinks I'm the Pee-pants maybe he should stand up for us! He walked over to the counter where Alice stood and looked sorry for me.

"You heard that?" I smiled uncomfortably.

She nodded and I started to wonder? Why hadn't she taken their orders and I was about to ask when Jessica came out the door which lead out back to our lockers, toilets and the mangers office.

"Oh sorry, just went to the loo for a few minutes," Jessica smiled up at me sheepishly.

"Okay whatever take their orders," I pointed at the F4 Boys and co., "So I can relax before you go and take your lunch break." I noticed her smile and realized that she was falling for their good looks and couldn't see beyond that to see the grave malice that lurked behind all that.

"Sure thing Bella! I'll get right to it!" she beamed up at me as Goldie-locks waved me over to their table.

"No! I want MY original waitress so get her and you, get lost!" I noticed Goldie-locks chase Jessica off and wondered what his problem is now.

"Bella," I picked up on her cracking voice and noticed she had tears streaming down her face, "They won't let me serve them, in fact Eddie won't allow it, he wants you to do it," she walked of and I tried to grab.

Oh wow, a nickname.

Wow, what did he say to her that upset her so much? Then again I wouldn't be surprised, Goldie-locks was the worst of them all. I couldn't even stand to say those four boys' names. I decided to suck it up and walk right up to their tables take their orders and keep my pride up. After all 'the customer is always right', though I think this is taking it a little too far. Trevor always says the customer is always right but he's never said anything about the Devils and his Demons before. I wonder…nah its best not to play with fire.

"What will you be having, Rosalie?" I asked her nonchalantly. Not wanting to give off any type of emotion.

"A fruit Salad and a cappuccino," she said not even giving me one look.

"Okay," I replied and asked Tanya and the rest, without saying any of the boys' names and saved the worst for last.

Goldie-locks!

"What will you be having?"

"Say our names in full," he leered at me, "Say them with respect,"

"Pardon? You can't be –"

"Say them or else, I swear I'll make you do it," Goldie-locks sneered and smirked afterwards

Oh Lord this cannot be happening, not her not now, I gulped and decided if I run, he'd just keep coming and I'll be forever his target and if I said it, I'd avoid any other consequences and might not be tormented by them

I decided if it's coming out of my mouth it ain't going to sound too amiable.

"Jacob Black, Jasper Hale, Emmett Cullen… and you, Edward Cullen!"
