Chapter 1
" Hurry up Godric! He's coming!" Helga said in a rushed whisper, her eyes looking panicked.
"Ok, ok, I found something... a map."
"Now isn't that splendid? Let's go!" Rowena said, getting impatient. The three ran out the side door just as Filch* walked in.
Once they were safely away they slowed down.
"A map you say?" Rowena said, looking at the rolled up parchment in interest.
"Yah, I think it is of England, but I can't be sure. It looks quite old, it shows everything, including the outskirts."
"Well, let's take a look." Helga said pulling them into the library. They sat at an old wooden table in the back of the library. Godric unrolled the parchment flat on the table.
"Well it is England, but... what's this over here?" Helga said, pointing to an old building.
"It looks like a castle." Said Godric, looking at it closely.
"Hold on, I might have read about that somewhere!" Rowena said, running out of sight, down one of the rows of books. She came back holding a large book. It's pages were yellowed and tattered. The cover was brown, though it looked as though it may have originally been red. It's edges were worn down, and frayed.
She placed it on the table in front of them
"Here it is. If anything can tell you about that castle, this book can." She flipped through the pages, skimming the pages as she went.
"Here it is, this looks right. It says here that the building is indeed a castle. It once belonged to a Prince... well... this is odd..." Rowena said, her brows knitting together in thought.
"What?" Helga and Godric chorused, leaning over the table.
" Apparently... this Prince... raised Warthogs."
"A Prince raised Warthogs... in a castle?" Helga said, giggling.
"Well! He was odd. Don't hold it against him." Godric said.
"You just defended a deceased stranger." Rowena said, stifling a laugh.
"My, aren't we intelligent, using words like deceased... and stranger." Came the smooth, icy voice of Salazar Slytherin from behind them.
"Would you like something Slytherin?" Godric said, turning to face him. Slytherin sneered at him.
"My, my what are we up to today?" He said, snatching the map off the table.
"Hey! Give that back!" Rowena said, standing up, trying to intimidate him.
"Only if I get some part in whatever it is you are doing. Deal?" Slytherin said. Slytherin was tall, and had icy gray eyes that seemed to have a barrier so that you couldn't read his emotions. He was intimidating to say the least.
"Why would would YOU want anything to do with US?" Asked Godric, his eyes narrowing to slits.
"Well, there might be something in it for me; Fame, fortune."
"Whatever, just hand over the map." Rowena spat. Slytherin held out his calloused hand.
"Shake." He growled at her. She quickly grabbed his hand and jerked it.
"Deal." She said through gritted teeth.

A/N: Well, what do you guys think? Let me know, ok? By the way, if you were wondering, it's not THE Filch, it's a relative. ;) I'm not THAT dim. Lol. Ciao!
