Rita had fallen for Lucius Malfoy the first time she saw him.
Tall and handsome, with silky blonde hair and a wicked smirk, what woman wouldn't? He was younger than her, but only by three years.
What woman wouldn't have fallen into bed with him?
It had been a great few months, while they fucked. There was no other word for it. Sex was too clinical and the mere thought of "making love" sent Rita into hysterical fits of laughter. She couldn't see this relationship turning into more.
Just because she didn't see it didn't mean she didn't want. Rita was a practical person, one who was good at reading people. She had to be to tell her reports, had to know what the exact response of the public would be so she would know what lengths she could go to.
That didn't make it hurt any less when he married Narcissa Malfoy, just like it didn't stop him from coming back to her.
It didn't stop her from letting him in.
