Alistair was laughing, eyes glazed over in sheer delight, admiring his soon to be protégé grilling on the rack.

Dean gasped, flickering between reality and past, unadulterated heat and swirling flames licking him one moment and the next something heavenly and cool settled on his forehead.

Sam conquered, persistent enough to draw his brother away from the torment.

"Sssmy?"

"Tell me what's going on, Dean. I want to help."

Sam gazed down at him with worried puppy dog eyes.

Dean shivered, "Dude, lay off me will ya?"

He sniffled discreetly, Sam heard it anyway.

"As soon as you stop crying."
