The knock on the door surprised her and she reached for a weapon that wasn't there. Teyla still wasn't used to this life. "Who is it?" she called through the door.

"It's me." Came the reply.

"Colonel!" Torren jumped from his spot on the sofa and joined her at the door. She grabbed his hand and pulled the door open but Torren freed himself. He held up his arms and John leaned down to pick him up.

"Hey buddy," John smiled as he held her son in his arms and then turned his attention to her. "Teyla."

"I was not expecting you," she said as she stepped back to let him in. John set Torren down and ran a hand through his dark hair. "Sorry about that. Probably should've called first."

"How is everything?" she asked. "I would have thought that you would still be off world?"

"Things were surprisingly uneventful and I guess General Landry was a in a good mood. He sent the team home." John glanced to where Torren had reclaimed his position, his eyes glued to the television screen. "I see that you two were getting along just fine without me."

Teyla smiled, "We were watching Elf."

"And my baby?"

Pursing her lips, Teyla arched her eyebrows. "You know how I dislike those nicknames your people insist on using."

He kissed her cheek, "Actually, I was talking about my other baby."

"Asleep," Teyla said.

"I'll say goodnight to her and then join in on the movie."

John handed them each a mug of hot chocolate before settling in between them. Teyla allowed her head to rest on John's shoulder and Torren snuggled up to him on the other side. "Ready for tomorrow, buddy?"

"You really think Santa will come?" Torren asked.

Teyla and John exchanged glances. "I think he will."
