Red Trailer:

Peddles of snow gently blew down the cliff-side of the unnamed forest. The scene was a winter wonderland with white as far as the eye could see. Every inch was covered from the leafless trees, to the few plants and shrubs growing here and there. All were concealed by the large, white, blanket.

High above the moon hung low like a wraith-silver disc, letting its gleaming light fill the night sky. In the distance, the gray shadows of dawn started to creep over the horizon calling for a new day to begin.

With daybreak approaching the wind pulsed fiercely now, swaying in every direction around a small, stone stele planted near the edge of the cliff. Its presence unknown, yet peaceful, as it added a strange beauty to the surroundings, almost merging with it.

At least in the eyes of the lone figure standing there staring, just staring.

She was a petite, young girl wearing all black under a dark crimson cloak with a hood draped over her eyes. She stood motionless as the wind swayed her ruffled skirt to one side furiously, completely unfazed by the cold.

She kneeled slowly, in a graceful gesture, with her head hung low. Her teeth gritted ever so slightly as her hands clenched together in a sign of prayer. Faint whispers escaped her lips through the blaring winds. And as they blew harder, she fell silent, slowly placing her right hand onto the stone, letting the cold, hard, surface heat up, ever so slightly, by her fingertips.

She remained in that posture for some time, from seconds to minutes, until without a sound, she rose. Giving a brief nod to the stele, a droplet slid down her cheek. She wiped it away as she turned and walked off letting the stone plaque fade farther and farther away.

Moments passed and the girl continued down the mountainous forest. She turned to see her trail already gone or thinning far behind, every step muffled beneath a soft crunch.

She stopped and glanced around her surroundings slowly. There were trees as far as the eye could see with the occasional bushes and shrubs protruding out the snow. She looked down and noted her footprints sunk a little deeper here than on the cliff side. The area lay brighter with a vague warmth she felt overhead and noticed the sun had risen higher, changing the black sky.

A frown crept on the girl's lips.

'The night is over now.' She thought sadly.

For as long as she can remember, she had always found peace at night. It was her kingdom, her domain, her realm. Embracing the dark was how she learned to survive, just like the assassins in her stories. The shadows would provide her solace and the shrouds of the nocturnal would offer protection.

The frown soon disappeared from her lips as she let out a long sigh. It was then that she noticed something when she focused on the wilderness around her, something peculiar. Despite passing through a large, dense, forest, there was not a single sound to be heard.

Her eyes leered. This was a forest, a snow covered one but still a forest no less. Even in the winter it should be scattered with wildlife. But that was not the case this time. Aside from the whistling of the wind, there were no birds squawking, no trees rustling, no noise whatsoever. The area was dead silent.

She glanced from side to side; either, for whatever unnatural reason, every animal somehow disappeared to hibernate or migrate or…

'Something scared them off. ` She thought, tensing up a bit.

She delayed no longer and continued walking again, completely unaware of the glowing red eyes lurking in the snow, a fair distance away from her.

The sun was now at its highest peak; minutes passed into an hour as her travel continued. Through that time the young girl started noticing rather peculiar oddities emerging from her route. Though she suspected as much, it was clear she wasn't alone and whatever it was, it wanted her to know it.

Such as the now audible rustling all around her, the low growls in the echoing distant.

'Intimidation tactics?' She thought, intrigued.

Despite these signs she pressed on. And as she advanced, it grew bolder.

There were claw marks now, large rips that sunk deeply and cleanly, into the multiple trees she passed. She could see sap bleeding out from the holes, causing thin puddles of the sticky substance to coat the snow.

'Is this to shock or scare me?' The girl wondered.

Whatever the creature was its actions drew a curiosity that she couldn't resist. It was clearly intelligent, that much was certain. It tracks and watches from a distance all the while using mind games to showcase its power, to strike shock and awe.

'A natural predator.' She concluded. Terrorize the prey, rile up its fear, and soak in the satisfying kill.

A cunning strategy, something she would do.

She glanced back at the wounded trees. The message was clear now.

'Will you come to me or will you runaway?' The creature challenged.

The girl did not hesitate and began walking; this time there was nothing but silence. The creature had its answer.

Time felt slow as she continued down the path. She began noticing a strange fog emerging around her. It whirled and quickly grew thick, sparing no vision past a foot in front of her.

Her pace slowed as she felt a shiver down her spine. She shook off the feeling, quickly composing herself, as the words of her mentor spoke clearly in her thoughts.

"When entering an unknown area, never allow fear to creep into your mind. Otherwise you're better off dead."

'Yes master.' The girl mentally said, and step by step she tread cautiously forward, noting the silhouettes of the trees lessening around her.

'A clearing? I couldn't have reached the end so soon.' Her eyes narrowed and then smirked faintly. 'Ah… I see what you're doing. Very well then.'

As suddenly as it started, the fog began evaporating quickly allowing her to walk more confidently through. Her eyes darted back and forth upon reaching the end of the white mist.

There, in front of her, stood a wide, open field with white as far as the eye could see. She looked passed the flatland and could faintly see the outlines of the forest a great distance away.

However, that wasn't all she saw.

The girl lowered her head and, without hesitation, began venturing across. She was now near the center of the land where she then stopped, witnessing the silhouettes moving among the trees.

There were many of them, gathered in great numbers. Their shapes and bodies, far larger than her own, not even hindering how silently they moved.

And they certainly moved, coming out of the tree line one at a time, growling, snarling, and barking as their images revealed in the high sunlight.

They were maliciously beautiful; hunched over wolf like creatures standing on their hind legs with skin as pitch black as the void. Their pupiless, blood red eyes, full of malice and hatred, gleamed and stared at her with sickly grins. Their teeth, sharp as daggers, trembled hungrily as puddles of drool drenched the snow beneath their paws.

"Beowolves." The girl whispered the name; a common type of Grimm among its species. And from their looks, no scars, no bone armor, these were adolescents. Possibly no more than a year or two old.

Her eyes darted back and forth. From her position the Grimm moved slowly surrounding her; some jittered madly while others prowled calmly behind, all the while she could see their claws twitching anxiously, ready to pounce. And if they did, they'd be perfectly capable of tearing her apart.

She glanced around counting them; a few dozen, give or take, and judging by the distant howling she can hear, more were coming. She examined their formation. The ones in the front acted excited and jumpy.

By what her mentor taught her, when Beowolves form large, organized packs, they always place the weaker, less experienced, members in front as cannon fodder; a bold, heartless, strategy to exhaust their prey so that the more seasoned Beowolves can secure the kill.

They were dangerously close - less than a few feet away, now completely encircling her. Confrontation was inevitable she knew and steeled herself, both mentally and physically. The fact that these beasts haven't mindlessly rushed her the moment she emerged shows how disciplined they were.

Her eyes then shifted on each one of the pack members, looking for one in particular; the one that would be her priority. It was incredibly well hidden but by the luck of her sight, she found it by its glowing red eyes.

There, standing tall behind the pack, was a Beowolf far larger and hulking than the others. Its presence nearly camouflaged by the snow as its bright, ruby eyes gleamed when meeting the girl's. Its fur was completely covered in bone plated armor with notable healed over battle scars representing its countless victories.

Were it so easy to take down, the beast would contradict its title.

"An Alpha Beowolf." The girl muttered.

The beast's ear's twitched and snarled, as if responding.

Alphas, the deadliest of Grimm, were known as reapers all over Remnant. Very few ever reached this title, but for those that do, they are the monsters that bask in pure death, hunters of hunters.

The standoff felt eerily tense now as both she and Alpha glared at one another; all the while, the Beowolves in front grew ever more restless. Their panting breaths yearned for the hunt; their chains of discipline began fading from their minds as pure, predatory hunger raged.

And then it snapped.

Three of the Beowolves suddenly rushed her, their tongues flailing from their mouths as saliva dripped a wet, slobbery trail.

The girl blinked as the beasts then jumped and lunged for her their fangs and claws ready to strike. A thin smirk crept onto her lips as she glanced up. The world around them suddenly slowed in motion almost stopping the Beowolves' descent.

'My turn.'

In a flash of red, she vanished as motion normalized. The Beowolves then fell, slashing and biting the air, as they tumbled into the snow. They quickly rolled to their feet with a rage towards the girl, but she was no longer present; she had disappeared so suddenly that only rose petals swayed where she once stood.

The Beowolves audibly growled with frustration and sniffed desperately in all directions for her scent. One of the Grimm then barked as it looked directly above itself, the other two's eyes followed.

High in the air, the Beowolves could see the girl twirling with the wind pulling her hood off to reveal her pale white skin and short, messy black hair with red highlighted bangs. Her eyes slowly opened allowing them to see emotionless, silver metallic irises followed by a glint of something red and black behind her.

As the girl began falling, her left hand reached around her waist and pulled out a large, strange, metal contraption. She pointed it downwards as the device extended itself and took aim at one of the Beowolves.

The aimed Grimm stared at the gadget with wonder until a cocking sound was heard. Its eyes widened in realization as it turned to make a dash; but it was too late. The shot fired immediately and struck the unfortunate Beowolf in the skull leaving its corpse to fall into the snow with half of its face gone. Its limp body then proceeded to disintegrate into nothing but a black mist and rose petals as the wind gently carried it away.

By their brethren's death, the rest of the pack howled and barked with anger. The Alpha growled to itself as its eyes glowed bright; the sick grin plastered on its face disappeared as it roared out a command. The two other Beowolves, still near the girl, barked and charged her as she landed.

She noticed their approach and the fight was on. One Beowolf lunged for her head only to miss as she jumped and fired down its neck. She twirled over its body in time to take aim at the other preparing to grab her. The shot was fired, and it cleanly ripped a chunk of the beast's left abdomen off.

Without warning, a new Beowolf came up behind her and slashed. She quickly rolled forward and tumbled around, shooting it in the chest as it tried to jump on top of her.

The weapon's recoil was fiercely strong as it pushed her back several meters. She scrambled to her feet and activated her weapon into a new transformation, a large metallic scythe nearly twice her size.

The Alpha was not fazed by the weapon's new look; it didn't even care as it roared with its large finger pointed at the girl. The entire pack heeded their alpha's command as a few more Beowolves charged in.

Unafraid, she charged back, dodging claws and fangs alike as the Grimm clumsily attempted to grab, bite, and claw, anything in order to get her.

She slashed and shot her way through the group efficiently, using her mobility and small figure to her advantage until she came upon the last of the second set.

When the time was right, she rushed to the nearest one and slammed the stem of her weapon down on the beast's neck, stunning it. The momentary impact shook the Beowolf as it raised its large canine head growling. It bared it red fangs wide open letting drool stain its lower lip and as it grinned sickly. It may not have been able to speak but its message was clear.

'I am going to devour you!" That grin said, "And you are going to taste good to me.'

The girl locked eyes with the Beowolf. She smirked and, without hesitation, pulled the trigger. The scythe's blade immediately came down hard easily slicing its body in two, diagonally.

'No, you're not.'

The Beowolves remained frozen in place watching the girl slam the tip of her scythe into the top part of their fallen brother.

She was mocking them.

Enough was enough. The Alpha had lost more Beowolves than intended and with a large, hateful, sneer it barked out a final order to the remaining members. This time they all charged.

She retracted her scythe and jumped a few feet back into a defensive position.

'Relentless bastards. Come on then.'

She cocked her weapon and twirled it into the ground, firmly keeping it in place, as she took aim and fired three rounds. All immediately hit their targets; one in the shoulder, another in the stomach, and the last one in the chest, causing all three to collapse.

With only one remaining, it swiped below in an uppercut fashion attempting to knock her off balance.

"Smart move." She admitted.

But it was fruitless with her reflexes as she hopped off the ground and fired point black into the beast's head. The recoil pulled her, and the weapon, out the snow sending them flying back.

Quickly adjusting herself, she threw her scythe back into ground more firmly, cementing it in place.

She then flipped mid-air and landed on the weapon's stem with perfect balance just in time to see more numbers added to the pack as they ran towards her.

The Alpha had howled a long, echoing cry causing more Beowolves to answer the call and emerge.

The girl sighed, 'Annoying pests.'

One Beowolf attempted to strike her head. She dodged and kicked it to the ground. Her body then maneuvered the weapon and pulled the trigger at another standing in front of the scythe's barrel. It shot cleanly through the Beowolf's neck jerking it back as she unstuck her weapon and twirled it into its back.

It was time to go on the offensive she figured and bolted forward, slashing an incoming Beowolf's legs followed by its neck before continuing onto another and then another.

The one Beowolf she had kicked earlier shook its head and growled as it got back on its feet. It watched as its prey sliced and diced its members like tissue paper. Using the element of surprise, the beast circled around slowly then charged with a wide, triumphant grin as it went for a tackle.

Unfortunately, its grin disappeared along with the bottom half of its body as its prey quickly cut it in two through the middle.

The girl paused then swung her scythe towards another charging Beowolf. She held down its neck with her blade before quickly pulling the trigger, decapitating it. Its head flew past her right as she turned to the sound of running on her left.

She ducked, barely missing the claw to her head.

`What the-"

The same Beowolf struck again, with more confidence this time, but the girl was prepared now, using the opportunity to strike and swung her scythe towards its back stunning it. She locked eyes with its pupiless ones as the Grimm detected as a slight anger emitting from the girl before she sliced through its body. With a growl of frustration, she then spun and shot another Beowolf behind it.

'Damn you for catching me off guard and damn me for letting it happen!'

She then jumped and kicked the top half of the dead Beowolf behind her, towards another. It instantly collided with the Grimm's face slamming it into the ground. She turned and saw two more charging. She charged back and flipped over one and then the other.

The girl then turned towards the closest one and quickly beheaded it. The other came running, falling for her bait, as she slammed her scythe's stem on its back.

The momentary stun allowed her to quickly roll underneath the creature as it attempted to stand. She then jumped on its back and pulled her weapon up as the beast roared in pain when she cut into its neck.

It howled and flailed in all directions until the girl had enough and pulled the trigger, launching the blade up and silencing it forever.

She quickly surveyed the area, noting most of their numbers were down. She jumped off the dead Grimm and as she landed, the next group arrived.

Reacting faster, she pointed her gun towards the sky and fired sending her twirling towards one Beowolf, slicing into its chest. She jumped again and maneuvered herself through the air shooting, slicing through several Beowolves as the foolishly jumped at her.

When she finished off the last one, a vulnerability exposed itself and a Beowolf, moving faster than the others, took it.

She barely had time to brace herself as she instinctively brought her weapon around where it absorbed the heavy punch. The impact was painfully visible in the girl's face as her body was thrown back with such force it shocked her. Her weapon was still trembling unable to process the force by which it took. Had that hit impacted her body… she didn't want to think about it.

She rooted her weapon into the ground with anger as she glanced up to see which bastard it was. Her eyes glared daggers when she discovered it was the Alpha. It stood tall, proudly basking in its confidence as its remaining pack gather together, barking with glee.

The Alpha grinned as it flexed its claws as if waving her over. This time it was mocking her; and it annoyed her to no end.

She wanted nothing more than to slice that grin off. She grew tired of it all and decided enough was enough. She will end this now, her way.

The girl flipped a switch on her weapon, causing its red magazine to detach as she pulled a new one from her metal pouch and reloaded it. She cocked her scythe once and twisted it as she took a forward stance.

"Time to end this." She whispered as her eyes suddenly clouded into a pupiless black. The Alpha stared curiously then felt an abnormal energy emit from its prey. It was dark, raw, and sent chills down its spine as the energy rose.

The girl pulled the trigger and launched towards the pack, with her own sinister smile. As she sped towards the Alpha, the White Beowolf lost its grin as it stared at those deep, black eyes. It yelped as it tried to fruitlessly evade her attack. But in the end up, its body was sliced from the back of its head along with two others in their stomach and shoulder.

She redirected herself around the pack, now losing their leader all confidence was lost as the remaining survivors all scrambled away.

"You're not going anywhere." She said darkly.

She fired another shot sending her soaring through the field slicing and dicing each and every Beowolf she saw. Some tried to escape into the forest failing; others tried to fight also resulting in failure. Every single Beowolf was marked for death and there was no escape now, until the inevitable happened.

It was a slaughter as the girl showed no mercy. She jumped, twirled, shot and cut her way through the pack sending bullets, limbs, and heads literally flying all around her.

It was grimly poetic as she felt like she was dancing. The girl caught vague glimpses of Beowolf after Beowolf being sliced and diced everywhere. She felt in control, in powered, and totally alive.

When the last one fell, it started raining silver bullets. She examined her work and nodded to herself. Countless corpses and body parts disintegrating into rose petals across the field. She retracted her scythe and attached it onto her back once more.

"Never mess with the Red Rose." She muttered and raised her hood back up, slowly walking into the forest as the wind carried hundreds of rose petals into the air, quickly erasing of what took place forever.

Some time passed as the girl continued down path. The voyage was far longer than anticipated but at last she arrived at the base of the mountain where snow met grass and cold turned to warm.

She glanced back, still seeing the distant winter forest gleaming from the strong sunlight shining brightly.

She admired its beauty for a moment longer before turning towards the tarred road leading into civilization. She followed it up towards a large metal sign with big, bold letters written to emphasize its meaning. She read the words quietly as she exhaled a sharp breath.

"Let's get this over with." She muttered walking on leaving the sign that read as followed; "Welcome to the city of Vale."
