A.N. – Woohoo, a Steven Universe poem, centered around Pearl and the song "It's Over, Isn't It?"
Pearl, I feel, is not a happy being, but is good at putting on a front most of the time. I tried to keep the piece tied to the song, but didn't touch on Greg, just Rose. This won silver in a contest on allpoetry-dot-com.
Baroque
Unrequited
yet still fated
honored, tutored
but still hated
sword in one hand
regrets in the other
station discarded
never can love her
millennia to wait
change seeps in slow
find a new cadre
they will not know
past still lingers
though form may be new
living a new life
one that's not true
outlook is rosy
if only for them
but universe centered
on one little gem.
