A/N: so I just wanted to get this out before the episode is aired. This is my take on how I think the marichat that we have been promised in the up coming episode will go, based on the few pieces of content we have seen. And no, I haven't forgotten about my other fics, I just have been really sick and I haven't had much motivation. I will get back to them. If you guys want, I will make more chapters to this as it as been released that there will be multiple balcony scenes so let me know.

Marinette was exhausted. The combination of this new Akuma attack, lack of sleep from staying up doing patrol, homework, and various projects had her beat.

She stumbled down the dark street in the vague direction of her home. She heard a sound behind her as someone asked "Princess?" before she blacked out. The last thing she felt were strong arms supporting her.

Chat Noir effortlessly caught her before she hit the pavement.

'What is she doing out here?' He mused silently 'doesn't she know it's dangerous?' He easily swept her into his arms bridal style and set off for her home. He remembered where it was exactly from the few times he had been there.

As leapt across the rooftops he glanced down at his friend. It was surprising how little he knew of her. She never managed to speak coherently around him out of mask, but when he was with her as Chat, she showed him a side of her that he never would have guessed to belong to shy, timid, gentle Mari. It was a side that reminded him of LadyBug. A lot actually. What a coincidence.

As they landed on her balcony he winced at the loud thump it made. She stirred in his arms.

"Chat? What--!?" She said groggily as she scrambled led to get out of his arms.

He set her down gently and explained what had happened. "Have you been sleeping well Princess? You look terrible." She looked at him quizzically. "Not that you could ever actually look bad Mari." He quickly remedied.

She smirked.

"Are you flirting with me? I thought you had it for LadyBug?"

"I mean- I do, it's just-" he look conflicted and scratched the back of his head, looking away.

"Chat?"

He sighed and sat up on her railing, one leg dangling as she walked up beside him.

"I- I do think-" he seemed so unsure of himself, Mari placed a hand on his shoulder "I believe I'm in love with her, but- I don't know. Maybe I'm just not her type, or, there's, another guy I guess." The last part was barely audible as he sank in on himself slightly.

Mari had never been so moved by her kitten before. She'd always known that he'd liked her but she hadn't realized-

"I'm sorry." He turned a bit to look at her "And I'm beginning to know how you feel as well."

"How do you mean? You like someone?"

She blushed. "Y-yeah. Yeah I-I do." She felt herself grow hot as she suddenly found herself on the spot. Oh no it's contagious. "It's a guy, in my school. I've had this huge crush on him almost the entire year but, I've just never gotten around to actually telling him, and he doesn't seem to have even the slightest idea, and he's just, so, amazing and I'm just simple little Marinette, a baker's daughter, and I'm just no where even near his league, Chloe's right." Her head flopped down and she hugged herself as he turned to look at her fully, mouth open.

"Do you really think so little of yourself?" He said, almost accusing.

"Huh?" Her head snapped up, her eyes wide as he grabbed her shoulders and looked deep into her eyes.

"Marinette Dupain-Cheng. You are not just some nobody. I may not know you very well but I know that you are an amazing, wonderful, talented girl and Chloe has no power over who are and who you aren't. And if your crush is blind to who you are really, then he may not even deserve you." He insisted, not realizing he was describing himself "I know that sounds harsh," he said cutting off a protest "but I mean it. You are worth something Mari, and you're worth a lot. Your friends love you, stand up for you, and you have a family who adores you." He smiled, a little sadly, still holding eye contact. "You are not a nobody."

"Thank you kitten." She smiled up at him, the two of them resuming their original positions, except her head was now resting on his arm. He purred lightly as the two got lost in thought. "Chat," she said slowly, thinking on his words. 'A family who adores you'. He'd looked so sad.

"Yeah Princess?"

"Do you, have a family who cares for you?"

"What?" He said, taken aback at the sudden question. "What makes you think I might not?" He tried to hide the truth.

"Its how you mentioned my family loving me. You looked sad, like it was something you didn't have."

"Heh. You're too good at this Princess." He swallowed, an attempt to keep his emotions down, and look out over the city. "My father- he's, distant shall we say. Mom, I don't know, she just left. I know that she isn't dead, but one day she just walked out the door with her suitcase and hasn't come back. Father used to be warmer when she was around but since she left he has become even more cold and distant." He turned to her again, huffing out a smile and trying to laugh it off as he normally did. The smile died when he saw how distraught he had made her. Her eyes were huge and wet and her hand was over her mouth. "DON'T WORRY!" He quickly tried to fix things again "I'M OKAY! I have my best friend, my other friends, you, LadyBug, Nathalie, I'm fine, I swear!" He held up a hand and placed the other over his heart. "You have your Knight's solemn oath Princess."

She pulled her hand back down. "You promise?"

"I promise Marinette." She leant forward and pulled him into a hug. He relaxed into it after a moment's hesitation. "Thank you Princess."

"Any time kitty. I'll be here for you."

"Promise of a baker's daughter?"

She chuckled. "That's the strongest promise out there after all." She grew a little red at how close they were, and was thankful for her face being hidden behind his shoulder.

When they pulled apart she let out a large yawn, sleepily rubbing her eyes.

"Our emotional drama and love lives aside," he quipped, realizing how late it was "You really need to sleep now Mari. It's way late."

"You're right of course." She zig-zadedly walked towards the trapdoor "G'night Chat."

"Will you be able to get down the stairs?" He asked, concerned walking beside her.

"Sure."

She couldn't. She fell on the first one, falling head first.

Chat, as only a superhero could, dived after her, caught her mid-air, and used himself as a cushion for her. He hit the floor on his back, arms wrapped around her protectivly with her above him.

He looked up and smirked at the adorably startled face of his classmate, her face inches above his own.

"Yes. You got down the stairs just fine I think." She went red as he helped her stand up, muttering something vaguely insulting sounding. He didn't mind. He helped her up the other stairs to her bed and tucked her in, somehow remaining oblivious to the countless pictures of himself that perforated the room. He smirked. "Nice body pillow," he commented, nodding to her cat pillow "didn't guess you're a cat person. Have to say I'm flattered."

"Oh enough flirting." She yawned again. "It's to late for that."

He chuckled. "As you wish Princess. Sleep well."

As he turned to leave, she grabbed hold of his wrist.

"Hey Chat?"

"Yeah?"

"Just so you know, you can always come over if you need to. I'll always be here for you."

He smiled, looking a little teary eyed even.

"Would you mind if I stayed a little while longer?"

"Of course you can." He laid down next to her, them both on their sides to maintain eye contact. "I should introduce you properly to my parents." She muttered, already close to sleep.

"That would be nice. But tonight there's just two of us."

She hummed happily. He leaned forward, brushing her bangs aside, and kissed her on the forehead.

She smiled.

"Good night dear kitty."

"Good night dear Marinette."

And she was asleep.

15minuets after she fell asleep he was still there, holding her hand, rubbing it with his thumb, and still talking quietly to her, thanking her for all she'd done for him that night and reminding her that she meant a lot to those around her. And how much she meant to him. Five minutes later Plagg was hovering in front of his face.

"Kid."

"If you wake her up I swear you will never have camembert again."

"Give me cheese and I'll stay quiet."

He stayed for a probably another 40 minutes, until the clock read past 1 in the morning.

He sighed, transformed back to his alter ego, and kissed her head again tenderly.

"Goodbye."

She woke for a second, opening one eye.

"Goodbye."

She closed her eye, and he was gone, shutting her trapdoor softly, so as not to wake her again.

A/N: oh the feels. Gotta love em. Anyways, as I stated, if y'all want, I can and will make more chapters, and as always, tell me what you think, if you would kindly.
