A/N: This is a parody that we had to write for school. I was bored so I decided to post this.....
Also, I can't take all of the credit for this, I wrote it with my friend. So I guess you could say that this is half-way mine.

'Twas the Afternoon Before Prom

'Twas the afternoon before prome when all through the stores,
All the guys were stirring, shopping for drawers.

And the girls were trying on dressed with care,
In hopes that a sale would be found there.

With only hours left between them and their dates,
While visions of kisses danced through their heads as their fates.

With momma's credit cards, she with her phone,
Had just spoken to a friend who bought a dress of bone.

When out on the food court there arose such a chatter,
She sprang from her seat th see what was the matter.

Away to the ATM she flew in a flash,
In hopes to recieve some long-awaited cash.

With lots of spare cash in hand,
She galloped to the store to buy a kimono from Japan.

And to what did her wondering eues did appear,
But her boyfriend and a blue velvet box drawing ever so near.

He saw her and smiled, then turned ever so quick,
So she wouldn't see the diamond he bought from Rick.

More rapid than eagles his face did flame,
He whistled and shouted and called them a name.

Move David, Debbie and Bob,
Get out of my way, let me through this mob!

Away he dashed to the end of the mall,
With the blue box, tux tails and all.

As fast as a tornado she did fly,
Oh...the packages that did fly as she went by!

To his house she flew in a hurry,
Afraid of what she might find she started to worry.

As his house came into sight,
Afternoon begain to fade into night.

She got to the door and heard no action from within,
Then she heard a tiny voice from behind, "I didn't intend."

"For you to see me at the mall." She slowly turned around,
And lept down the stairs with a bound.

She yelled at him while he shuffled his feet,
Then her anger cooled and she turned white as a sheet.

"I feel bad about running away from you," he said to her back.
"I just couldn't let you see me with this." He rummaged in his pack.

He pulled out a blue velvet box, his eyes merry.
Slowly he knelt before her, cheeks red as a cherry.

Then with a bow he slowly opened the box,
What was there almost made her jump out of her socks.

He took out a ring, a glittering diamond band,
Then ever so slowly placed it on her hand.

"My dear would you merry me?" he said.
"Of course," she thought, nodding her head.

She walked to her car as though in a daze,
He took her hand, hearts a blaze.

They spoke not a word the whole way home,
When they arrived she ren up the stairs and grabed a comb.

On they way th the dance,
Oh how there was romance.

He took her hand gentle and slow,
As they begain to sway, how her dress did flow.

As they murmured sweet nothings into each other's ear,
"My love will forever be yours," he said with a tear.

now that you all have shed a tear....REVIEW!!! :-D
