THE BIRTH OF THE MASTER EMERALD
Twenty-thousand years ago, the master emerald was created.
On that night, the moon shone brightly over the forest as the residents all settled into their homes. The only life not turning in for the night was a short cloaked figure. A soft wind blew through the woods as she ran through the forest, her cloak flowing behind her. Animals scattered in all directions to avoid being crushed by her. At last, she reached her destination: a cave. She looked behind her to make sure no one had followed her. Once she was sure she was alone, she ran inside.
The cave was enormous and had hundreds of tunnels. The figure looked around, deciding on the one in front of her. She walked through the long, dark tunnel, her lantern as the only source of light. Her footsteps echoed all throughout the stone walls and floor of the passageway. At last, she arrived in a room that was much brighter than the tunnel. She looked around and noticed a large pile of rocks in the center of the room.
She walked up to it and began arranging the rocks in a circle, seven small ones on the outside, and one large one on the inside. Once she was done, she reached into her cloak and pulled out a leather bag and a book. She set the book next to her and opened the bag, pulling out the contents: seven gems, each one a different color. She placed them inside the outer circles and then picked up the book. She opened it and began to read the incantation. As she spook, the gems began to glow, one by one. Suddenly, beams of light shot out, each one the same color as the gem, and all joined in the middle. When the figure looked up from the book, she gasped at what she saw.
A ball of white light had formed and was growing larger. The female dropped the book as she backed away, one hand in front of her face. The light then exploded, knocking her to the ground. After what felt like hours, the light finally faded and she turned around to see a large lime green gem floating above the inner circle, and the smaller gems floating around it. She stared in awe at the sight before her and after a few minutes of silence, she whispered to herself "the Master Emerald…."
