A/N: This is only the first half of the prologue. Its been taking me forever to think up the other half so I decided just to put the part of Chelsea's departure up now and

Chelsea's Departure (New Years Eve)

"Oh my god, Chelsea I'm gonna miss you so much!" Cried Eve, Chelsea's best friend since she was 3. Chelsea embraced her friend in a friendly hug. " They have telephones where I'm going. I'll make sure to call every night"

"We're rasing Anchor!" Yelled the ship's attendant.

Chelsea let her friend go and cursed under her breath. "I gotta go,Eve. I'll call when I get to Spring Island."

"Promise?" Eve whiped the tears from her cheeks.

"Oh of course!" The two friends hugged again. "Best friends forever. I promise."

"All aboard!" The attendant yelled.

"Crap! Sorry Eve but I gotta go." Chelsea ran from her friend and up the ramp to the ship.

"Hello! Good timing. We were just about to leave without you." Smiled the attendant.

Chelsea just nodded silently. She was trying not to cry,but she missed her friends and family already.

The attendant coughed. "I need to record you into the passenger's log. Name, please?"

"Chelsea"

"Ahh yes, Chelsea. Age and birthday?"

" 18 and Spring 20"

"Good. Now may I see your ticket?"

Chelsea handed the attendant the ticket and he tore one half off and gave the other half back to her.

"Okay, Miss Chelsea, you're all set. Its gonna me some adventure, huh? Leaving the city behind to start a new life on one of the islands...How exciting!"

"Yeah. Very exciting." Chelsea said blankly.

"You're not getting homesick already are you?"

Chelsea looked down and stared at the ground. She could feel a warm tear stream down her face and watched as it dropped to the ground in front of her. "Yeah. I guess I am."

"Well, everything will get better." The attendant said, taking a handkerchief out of his pocket and handing it to her. "I felt the same way when I first moved out on my own. The feeling will pass soon."

"Thanks." She took the handkerchief and blew her nose then offered it back to the attendant.

The attendant stepped away from it as if the handkerchief was gonna eat him. "Oh no thanks you can have it."

Chelsea giggled. "Ok if you insist." She stuffed it in her pocket, thanked the man, and walked onto the ship. As Chelsea leaned over the rail she spotted Eve staring so coldly at her that it made Chelsea's stomach twist with greif. She was starting to think that this wasn't a good idea after all.

"Attention all hands! We are now embarking!"
