Title: Abusing Nekkoala's Ability For Fun And Profit
"You ready Freddie?" asked Chuckie.
"Yes," replied Freddie. "I can't wait to see what you got on your trip to Alola. You keep going on and on about this Pokemon you caught there."
"You'll see soon enough. I better prepare a camera for this," said Chuckie with a chuckle. "So as agreed, a double battle?"
"Yes. Ready? Begin! Go, Pelipper and Raichu!" shouted Freddie.
"Go, Slaking and Nekkoala! Nekkoala, use Entrainment on Slaking now!" Chuckie said quickly. Nekkoala complied and Slaking gained its ability in exchange for losing Truant.
"You think a Slaking that doesn't has its Truant ability will scare me?" mocked Freddie. "Raichu, Thunder Wave on Slaking now! Pellipper, use Stockpile!" Raichu did as asked. The attack hit, while Chuckie only smirked.
"Slaking, Thunder Punch! Take out that Pelipper!" yelled Chuckie.
"What!?" cried Freddie, as he realised the Thunder Wave did not succeed in paralysing Slaking while his Pelipper was knocked out. After returning it, he asked "Why isn't it paralysed!?"
"Nekkoala's ability means it can't be afflicted with any status condition besides sleep! And since that ability was given to Slaking, the same applied to him!" answered Chuckie. "Now Slaking, take out the Raichu! Hammer Arm!"
Freddie was too shocked by what Nekkoala's ability was capable of to react in time, and recalled his Raichu in defeat. He asked, "So that is the kind of Pokemon you can find in Alola?"
"Yeah, you should go sometime," advised Chuckie.
"I will, see ya," replied Freddie, and with that, the two went their separate ways, already getting ready for their next rematch.
