Terran stronghold

I DON'T OWN STARCRAFT!!!

Get the message?

Prologue

Twenty-four marines ran to a cluster of four bunkers guarding the exits. Pairs of marines were handing out ammunition. Several of them manned S.C.Vs and making sure all the missile turrets were functioning properly. Pilots were manning the bases best asset, the numerous wraiths and battleships on standby in hangers. The strategic overview was simple. Defend the base's three entrances until a team of ghosts could paint nukes on the Zerg brood in the area. Speaking of nukes there were five silos ready and waiting that could be reloaded in a matter of thirty minutes. Right now Private Arthur Shaun was staring at one of them as he ran by. "What are you doing marine," his sergeant shouted, "get to your bunker pronto!!!" "Sir, yes Sir" was almost automatic response. He ran through the opening to one of the bunkers guarding the southwest side and took position next to his friend, Conner Kaien. "I'm damned glad I ain't a Fire bat," he commented. He was glad to. The Fire bats of Seiko base had the toughest job which was standing in a forward bunker hosing down Zerglings with a highly flammable explosive object strapped to their backs. You had to be crazy to do that. Then again if you were a Fire bat you probably were crazy. The smart ones were the marines. But the really smart ones were someplace safe. Any way I digress. Shaun tensed. Any moment now, hundreds if not thousands of Zerglings and Hydralisks would come rushing up the mountain, but hopefully not up any of the three ramps. Soon the ground would be so thick with targets, he wouldn't have to aim.

Ghosts have it easy. They don't have to do anything. High command loves them. Therefore, most marines admit they have their uses, but personally, most marines despise them. Chris Acder wanted to change that. For better or for worse, that started with this mission. He and four other ghosts would head to the Zerg colony- cloaked of course- and 'paint' clusters of 'buildings' afterwards the Zerg reinforcements would be depleted and the troops at Seiko base would launch a counter attack. The five ghosts would then make their great escape while the counter attack took place. However, five nukes could not possibly eliminate the entire Zerg colony so they had to choose their targets carefully. After this whole mess is over thought Acder, maybe marines will respect us.

"Their coming!" yelled a forward marine. "Alright men, it's time to rock and roll," shouted a Marine sergeant. Up ahead, Shaun could see thousands of Zerglings swarming in. Damn, he thought, they just had to build a giant base in the middle of a Zerg planet. He knew however, that for better or for worse, he was here, and he wanted to live.

"Ghosts move out," said their leader. All five of them turned on their cloaking devices. "This is going to be fun," remarked a ghost. Acder could see and hear marines opening up on the endless lines of the Zerg. He hoped they could hold. He knew they could, for a while at least.

And with that, the battle for Seiko base was on

To be continued.

Author's notes

If you review this story, please include a catch line for ghosts. I have Star craft, but I never played that much and haven't gotten a ghost yet. Other than that please enjoy.
