House Of Birthday
"Good morning!" Cheered Nina, always perky when it's early.
"Hey! How are you?" Asked Patricia, trying to match Nina's perkiness.
"Mostly good, not looking forward to the history test today, but that's okay."
Victor thundered into the room. "Mail everyone. Let's see, a letter to Mara from Mick, and a letter to Patricia."
Mara opened hers, a letter from Mick, they were broken up, but he still had things to talk about, so they were occasional pen pals. When Patricia opened hers, she saw a bright pink card that said "Happy Birthday!" She opened it up with a note from her parents inside. She read it, tossed it aside, and went back to her breakfast. Eddie turned to her and almost asked,
"Oh, it's your birthday?"
"Yeah, but I really don't care about it. Never have. My parents send a card, I get a happy birthday song, and move on. Whatever."
"Oh, okay." Were the words that came out of Eddie's mouth, but he was secretly forming a plan.
A half an hour later, the bell rang, and the school day was beginning. Eddie found Mara, and asked,
"So, Patricia really never does anything for her birthday?"
"No, she never has. Why, what are you thinking?"
"Oh, nothing..." He said with a funny grin as he slid down in his seat.
After lunch, Eddie found the one person who he knew could prolong Patricia getting home. Nina. After all, she'd been able to stop everyone else from finding out about Sibuna, so Eddie figured it was a safe bet.
"Hey Nina!"
Nina looked confused. "Hi..."
"You know Patricia's birthday is today, right?"
"Yeah, I saw her open her card this morning." Nina said as if she was talking to a total idiot.
"Well, I want to do something for her, and I need you to make her late getting back to Anubis."
"Well, okay, but I can tell you right now that she doesn't want anything done for her birthday."
"Maybe I can change her mind!" He said slyly, clearly with an idea in his head that mystified Nina. Just because Eddie had a plan didn't always mean that it was a good one.
After school, Nina managed, very awkwardly, to keep Patricia away for a while, you'd think that Patricia of all people would Nina's "Lying" face, but she didn't.
Meanwhile, back at Anubis, Eddie, Joy, Mara, Jerome, Amber, and more or less, Alfie, were all helping set up a wonderful evening for Patricia. At long last though, Nina couldn't hold off Patricia anymore, and as Patricia stepped into what she thought was Anubis house, but instead, she found herself in a dream land, filled with banners, balloons, and gorgeous everything, including her gorgeous Eddie, who she ran to and kissed. For the first time in her life, she really cared about her birthday, and really cared about her Eddie, they all partied all night long, on Patricia's birthday.
