Draco's Changes

I have changed so much. I, Draco Malfoy, have changed. The battle at Hogwarts was proof enough of that.

I don't know what it was that did it, nor do I care. The point is that I am different. I am no the same boy who would have ticked off Potter just for the fun of it. Instead I let the stupid scarhead save my life.

I have changed.

I once followed my father blindly. He fell from favor and I learned to think for myself.

I have changed.

I once wouldn't have cared if my friends died. They were just tools. Crabbe's death may have been the worst experience of my life. The war didn't seem quite real until one of my friends died. Great way to come to grips with reality. Yeah.

I have changed.

Once upon a time my loyalty to the Dark Lord was unwavering. Being able to serve him was the highest honor I could have received. That all changed the night that Severus killed Professor Dumbledore. There's that word. Change.

I have changed.

Once I worshipped my father. Now I wonder how he could have spent so many years being so very wrong.

I have changed.

Once I thought that I would gladly die for the Dark Lord. Not now that I have seen death. Not now that I can see the thestrals.

I have changed. Forever.

Author's note: These keep getting shorter and shorter! This is part of a series called Reflections. They are about characters reflecting on a bunch of different things. There are seven more. They are about Luna, Snape, George, James, Remus, Dudley, and Percy. I am asking for suggestions of characters whose reflections you want to see.
