Summary: A little poetic speculation on how Pegasus will end: Lee reflects on how much he's changed since the end of the world.

Twice now, I've held a gun to the head of a superior officer.

Before, I would never have done it. I didn't always agree with my superiors. I can think of plenty of occasions I've carried out orders before that I didn't agree with. A few where I could immediately see how my orders were flawed, how they put people in unnecessary danger. I've seen people die who wouldn't have if there had just been a better frakking plan, but until the world ended I would never have done anything like this. I've always understood that, in the military, you can't afford to break the rules that govern status, because you can't afford the kind of breakdown that would cause.

That was before the end of the world.

Now, there are no fail-safes. Those rules, and all the other systems that keep our society functioning, are balancing on a knife's edge, a hairsbreadth away from oblivion.

And twice now, when I had to choose between two sets of rules, I've chosen what is right over what military protocol. I can't afford to be just another solider anymore- I have to make a stand.

Twice now, I've held a gun to a superior officer's head.

And the second time, I pulled the trigger.
