Title: Child's Play
Drabble: #60
TK's prompt: Wheelie bin
Randomly selected pairing: Mimari
Disclaimer: I don't own Digimon.
Notes: We've actually got bins like this here. They're hideous.
Mimi can still remember when the laws about recycling rubbish came into play, and every family was issued with a large, green wheelie bin with a bright blue lid for all of their recyclable waste. She was most definitely not happy about it; as far as she was concerned, the bins were a blemish on the face of the earth. She was all for recycling and everything, but they really could have designed some bins that were a bit more aesthetically pleasing.
Bright blue lids for murky green bins with black wheels? Please. Some people just do not know how to colour coordinate.
But she must admit, the bins have grown on her since their arrival. Not the colours, obviously; she'll never change her mind about the fact that those colours were awful choices. In all, though, the bins weren't a bad idea.
She first saw them when she visited Hikari, since that area had been assigned bins first. Hikari had laughed when she expressed just how unimpressed she was, and said that they could be fun. Only, of course, while they were still new; bins which had had rubbish in them were no fun at all.
Mimi had experienced the kind of fun Hikari was talking about. And it was indeed fun. It had been like a game; one of them would climb inside the wheelie bin, and the other would push it down a hill. Mimi had, at first, been reluctant; new or not, it was still a bin and she didn't really want to be inside one. But Hikari had persuaded her, shown her how much fun they could have.
When she gave in, they took turns and Mimi eventually found herself wondering what she had been so worried about. Since the bin hadn't had rubbish in it, it just smelt of plastic and the inside was clean. It wasn't like she was getting dirty, unless the bin tipped over while she was in it. That had happened once, and she hadn't been pleased when she later discovered grass stains on her skirt.
But it was alright. They had washed out and she had been laughing at the time. She always laughs with Hikari.
