Mei was sprinting through the rain, the droplets falling onto her hair and clothing at a quick speed. She was holding Tepig tightly in her arms, trying to shield it from the rain. "Ah, It's no use to run! This stupid visor does't help at all!" She exclaimed, pouting. The small fire Pokémon let out a disappointed sigh to fit her current expression, both of them equally annoyed. "Well, I guess we gotta take the route through the forest then..." She mumbled, stroking Tepigs' head.
After walking around in the forest with no map available (She had left it back at the Pokémon center past tve forest, hence why she was going through a forest in the rain), she stopped, looking down at her feet, letting the rain drip down on her face for a bit. Her marine eyes looked into the distance, drifting away. Her sudden peace at mind was disturbed when she heard footsteps. When she turned to see who it was, she smiled.
"Hyuu!" She chirped, smiling from ear to ear. "Hi." He replied, looking at her. "I heard from the nurse that you were going out in the rain without proper clothing." She looked away when he mentioned it, and laughed awkwardly. "I didn't do that I promise!" She stuttered.
"Then why are you completely drenched? You could atleast have let Tepig stay at the Pokémon Center, don't you know that fire-types get weaker in rain?" She looked down at the ground again, a feeling of guilt washing over her. "Here." Hyuu opened an umbrella, holding it over both him and the bun-haired girl.
"I figured you needed some shielding from the rain, so I brought this." A faint blush was on his cheeks, but Mei didn't notice.
"Thank you Hyuu!" She exclaimed, while Tepig cried cheerfully. Hyuu's Oshawott was on the top of his head, almost buried in the spiky dark blue hair. "Don't mention it." He answered, averting his gaze.
After a while of figuring the forests routes, they managed to reach the city, and the Pokémon center, where they were also staying for the night. Mei quickly ran up to the room they shared, and put the town map in her shoulderbag. She let out a loud sneeze afterwards, and started freezing.
"Go and put on some dry clothes to sleep in, we have lot's to do tomorrow so you need to sleep." He had already put on his sleepwear, in which consisted of a black t-shirt and grey pajama pants. Mei nodded, and let Tepig into it's Pokéball. After changing, she was about to climb the ladder to the top bunk of the bed, when she stopped and went down again. "Nee, Hyuu?" She asked. "Hm?" He mumbled sleepily, being almost half-asleep already.
"Thanks for helping me out!" She gave him a quick peck on his cheek before rapidly climbing up to the top bunk, making herself comfortable. "Goodnight Hyuu."
"G-goodnight." He stuttered, unsure of what had just happened. He had always liked Mei a lot, but did she return these feelings of his? Maybe she did. The only thing that ran through his mind that night was just Mei, and the kiss he had recieved, in which he hoped was one of affection.
