Click-click-screech tested its small leg-arms one at a time, then shook itself. It turned its head up and let out a low keen, letting the Keeper know it had been Created.
Screech-clickity-click reared onto its back leg-arms and let out a lower pitched screech in reply, letting the small undefined Hive-member know it was there. It let its front leg-arms hit the ground with a loud double-click and let out a high pitched click-sequence of instructions to the undefined.
Without a second thought to Screech-clitckity-click, Click-click-screech walked out of the Creation-place and into the Defining Center. Behind it, the also undefined Clickity-clack-click fell into line. Both were met outside and escorted inside by Screech-screech-clack, the Definer, into the Defining-place.
Screech-screech-clack motioned Click-click-screech into the blue glow of the Defining-place. As it stepped into the glow, Click-click-screech heard the quiet buzzing that Defined it as Fighter. There was a tingling in its front leg-arms as its recognizable shooters were installed, and a quick seering burn as the Master's Symbol was imprinted on its head.
It stepped out of the Defining-place and nodded its head at its fellow Hive-members, who clicked approvingly at its new Definition. Screech-screech-clack motioned Clickity-clack-click into the Defining-place.
Click-click-screech watched as the glow changed color and the Master's Symbol was blazed onto clickity-clack-click and a golden stripe shone down her back. It recognized Her at once as the new Female, the only Definition capable of Creating. Both Click-click-screech and Screech-screech-clack bowed to Her.
She turned her head to inspect her stripe before humming for them to rise. As they did, She eyed them both serenely before walking by, motioning to Click-click-screech to escort her to her Resting-place.
When She was secured, it walked to the Fighter-section of the Hive, and registered for a Rank. It was give 0665 and sent to Rank-box 0600. It spent some time conversing with its Rank-mates, then went to its Resting-place.
The Days passed, and Click-click-screech grew, and learned.
It had its first, and only, encounter with Those-who-are-not-Hive on its Sixty-Sixth Day. It and it's closest Rank-mate, Click-buzz-click, Rank 0664, were instructed to the Leaving-place and sent to the Place-that-is-not-Hive. There, the two encountered two Fighters of Those-who-are-not-Hive, who were apparently escorting their Female to a tall Resting-place. They were informed that the Female couldn't be allowed to reach Her Resting-place. Such events occurred often in the Hive, when a Female was deemed unable to Create properly. They fought the Not-Hive Fighters, and Click-buzz-click was Non-Created. Click-click-screech aborted its mission unhappily, and transported back to the Hive.
On its One-Hundredth Day, the Female Clickity-clack-click, whom he had seen Defined, called all the One-Hundred-Days to Survey. She walked before them, and inspected them, and finally chose two. Both Click-click-screech and Buzz-click-clack were selected for Creation.
The Female lead them into the Creation-place and clicked instructions to them. The two bowed their heads and the Female put one of her from leg-arms on them. Click-click-screech and Buzz-click-clack let out identical low keens as they disappeared. The Female let out a high pitched hum as she, too, disappeared.
