Disclaimer: I still don't own anything. Yeesh, if I did, then there would be more happy endings for these heroes

Here's my newest story, You Promised

Prologue

Ten years ago

"Mami! Tati! Te rog, nu mă părăsi!" Dick screamed, watching his parents fall to their deaths (1). This time, though, there was another person with his parents: Bruce. "Bruce! You can't leave me too! Please don't go!" Tears streamed down his face, falling to the ground as he watched his parents and Bruce fall to the ground. Falling to their deaths.

Eight-year-old Dick Grayson tossed in his bed, tears streaming down his face. "Nu! Bruce! Nu mă lăsa! Te rog, nu mă părăsi!" he screamed in his sleep. (2)

Bruce was woken up by his young son's screams. He jumped out of bed and ran down the hall to Dick's room. Flinging open the door, he saw Dick flailing around in bed, tears running down his face. "Te rog, nu mă părăsi, Bruce! Am nevoie de tine!" (3) Bruce rushed over to the young boy's bed and picked him up out of his blankets, holding him close. Dick grabbed Bruce's shirt in his small hands and clung to his adopted father.

"Shh, it's okay, Dick. Taci, micul meu pasăre. Sunt chiar aici. Nu plec nicăieri." (4)

Dick sobbed harder into Bruce's shirt and Bruce held him closer. "I-I saw you die! You fell with my parents!"

"Dickie, that's not going to happen."

"Please don't ever leave, tati."

"I won't. I'm not going anywhere, Dickie. I'll be right here next to you. You don't need to worry about me going anywhere."

"Promise?"

"I promise."

"I love you, tati." Dick said, pressing his face into Bruce's chest.

"I love you too, son."

(1) "Mommy! Daddy! Please don't leave me!"

(2) "No! Bruce! Don't leave me! Please don't leave me!"

(3) "Please do not leave me, Bruce! I need you! Please do not leave!"

(4) "Hush, my little bird. I am right here. I am not going anywhere."

Sorry that it was kind of short. I promise that the next chapter will be longer.

I'm also currently working on the next chapters for Christmas at Wayne Manor and Heartstrings.
