I was there, filled with anxiety, nervousness, but mostly excitement. All my life my parents had forced me to study; study this, study that. I'm going to make it all change. I'm in the Choosing Ceremony. I was waiting for my name to be called. If they didn't judge me ny my clothes, they would've thought I was Dauntless. With black eyes, dark, messy hair, and if I would've shown my real attitude. So far, the transfers I saw was 2 Candor, 1 Amity, 1 Abnegation, and no Erudite. I guess I was first, because I heared my name. "Taylor Lopez." I walked to the tables, and the Amity leader, which I didn't care to know who, gave me a knife. In one swift motion, I sliced my hand. I poured my blood on the coals, symbolizing my loyalty to Dauntless. I heard gasps from the Erudite, and cheers from Dauntless. I smirked as I walked to the other initiates of Dauntless. I looked to my parents, and they were smiling. They were proud. That's all I needed to know for me to keep moving on. After ages of waiting, the ceremony finally ended. We ran to the stairs. I cant supress a giggle escape from me. This is the second time I've ever ran in my entire life. A moving train passed us, and we hopped on one of the cars. I sat on the floor as the others went in or looked around the car. I saw Kyle, and he flashed me a smile. I did the same, and he sat next to me, panting. It got a little awkward for me, but since we're the only Erudites here, we might as well be friends. Kyle is cute, in a way, but I didn't feel anything for him. He's nice, grades as high as mine, but that's it. The train went 7 stories high, and it was time to go. I gulped, since I have a fear of heights. Kyle must've seen me pale, so he placed a hand on my shoulder, and together we jumped. A man was waiting for us. "Listen up! My name is Max, and I'm on of the leaders of your new faction! Several stories below us is a members' entrance to our compound. If you cannot muster the will to jump off, you do not belong here. Our initiates have the privilege of going first." A Dauntless-born asked. "Seriously?! What's below?!" Max just smiled. "You'll see." I walked to the ledge, silently volunteering to go first. I looked down, and paled again. I can't see the bottom. But without arguing, I turned around, my body went weightless, as I jumped. While falling, I had a flashback. I was thirteen. It was also December 13. It was the night where I fiest sneaked out. When I was far enough frommy house, I ran. As fast as I can. It was my first taste of freedom. Next, my friends, Sophia and Ysa, gave me a bracelet. It had thirteen beads in total. We knew that we will go separate ways, so they made a sign of our friendship. Sophia went to Candor, while Ysa went to Amity. The last one, it was the end of the school year. I was fixing and throwing away stuff I don't need anymore. I counted all my failed quizzes and tests. It was thirteen in total. My lowest score was 13/50. I felt something behind me. A net! There was a net below! I looked at the bracelet they gave me. I hope they still have theirs. A hand helped me off the net. A female voice asked me, "Careful in choosing your name. You only get one shot." she was as small as I am, but I know that she will still win a fight against me. But those flashbacks. I know what they are meant. "Thirteen." The girl looks at the other guy, and they made eye contact. "First jumper, Thirteen!" he shouted and the others cheered.
