Mark was sitting on the couch filming a new documentary. Roger came in.

"Hey Mark, can I ask you a favor"

"You can ask"

"I'm running low on inspiration so would it be okay if I read your journal?

"I really need to write a new song for my music job"

Mark sighed.

"Yeah that should be okay. Just don't read page 32"

Roger narrowed his eyes and asked, "what's on page 32"

"What? You think you're the only one with secrets. I have a few of my own"

"Really? Tell me or I'll read it," Roger teased.

Mark sighed. He knew Roger would do just that.

"Okay," he consented, "you might want to sit down for this"

Roger nodded and sat down.

"Okay," Roger said, "spill it"

"Well it all started when Maureen broke up with me the 1st time. I was depressed and I did something I never did before. I got drunk.

Roger laughed inwardly… Mark got drunk for the first time at age 24!

"There was a beautiful girl at the Life Café. She was obviously high. The waiter was a druggie and had slipped something into her drink. So neither of us were aware of what we were doing and we… did it. It was only after I woke up the next morning that I realized that it was April"

Roger nearly chocked on his water.

"YOU WHAT," he exclaimed trying desperately not to laugh. "It's been eating me up alive," Mark said sadly.

"Mark," he said, "don't get me wrong what you did was idiotic but you both were unaware of what you were doing and isf anyone is at fault it's that damn waiter"

"So you're not gonna get mad?"

"Of course I am but you and I have been brothers since we were in kindergarten. I'm not going to let one mistake that you made affect our friendship, change it in any way or damage it. We've shared everything and now I just found out we shared the same girl. Just," he said and hit him with a pillow, "don't do anything dumb like that again or I will REALLY get mad"

"Roger," Mark joked, "I'm me, I'm always going to do stupid things but I promise never to do anything like that again"

"Deal," Roger replied and then went laughing to the Life Café.
