Let The War Wage Onwards
Another fight is upon us
Our treacherous foes as menacing
And heartless
As any devil
Could wish to be.
I worry not,
I needn't
For we have clashed
Too many times
And their honourless ways
That in times gone by
Appalled me
To the point of disgust
Now stir no shock
For my weary soul.
Clash!
Clang!
Clank!
Crash!
So many sounds
That could tear my life
In two
But now only fuel my ire
As I attack my adversary without remorse,
Only for my brothers.
Another fight has ended
And one more time
I can slow my frenzied heart
My brothers are safe
But as we unite
Among the fallen bodies
Of our adversaries
In our bittersweet victory
I wonder over
The same question that haunts
My soul
With each conquest we claim
What of tomorrow?
When another battle finds us
When again
We must face them, our enemies
Shall we be as privileged?
I can wish.
But now they are here
And now they are safe
So I relish in this moment
And pray tomorrow will not be the day
That my life loses meaning.
That tomorrow we will not finally succumb to
The born devil, The Shredder.
For if this senseless war should end,
Then so might my brothers,
So might my soul.
