Hey guys.
I found this new book! I read it a few years ago, reread it recently, and decided to write a fanfiction on it. I hope you all enjoy!

Sean never feared the sea until that day. That day the sea rolled and boiled and turned an angry black as it beat the sand of the beach with a vicious energy he had never seen. The capaill were wild on that day. They keened angrily as they bucked under their riders, and raced along the beach with a new energy. Even Corr fidgeted from where he stood next to Kate and Dove.

"Sean, I have a bad feeling about this. The sea is angry today." Kate's voice rose above the screams of the capaill and the shouts of their riders.

"I have to catch a capaill," Sean said. "I have to race this year."

Then the sounds suddenly stopped all at once, except for a soft splash. Even the sea had quieted, and Sean turned with dread heavy in his chest.

Before him, dripping with sea water, was a capaill. Its coat was deepest black, and it's eyes shone blue. Perched atop the great creature, like a goddess on her steed, sat a girl. Her waist-length hair was as black as her capaill, and her skin was pale as salt from the sea. Her eyes glittered a soft violet as she gazed around at the men and their capaill.

"Do not run the races this year! When the stars align the ocean will run red with the blood of the riders!" Her voice rose in a shout, and the men of the beach remained completely silent.

Then the capaill turned and leaped back into the sea, and the girl was swallowed by the black water.

Then all at once the ruckus started up again, and the horses all screamed as the men shouted about the girl.

Sean turned back to Kate.

"I have to run this year."

Short chapter, but I'm having to rewrite this entire fanfiction because I lost the original, so I'm not feeling particularly peppy about writing. Longer chapters to come later. Bye guys.
