Children in the Attic

Authors Note & Disclaimer:

Id like to give you a little history on why I chose to write this story. This fanfiction is based on my two favorite entertainment writers/games. Kingdom Hearts and the fairytale kingdom of V.C Andrews. For all of you who are unfamiliar with this her writings, I'll give you a little info. Her first book, Flowers in the Attic, is the book im basing this story on. The book is about two brothers and sisters. The eldest to youngest are Christopher, Cathrine, Carrie and Cory. After thier beloved father dies, thier mother takes them to live with thier wicked grandmother. She promises that once the old, sickly grandfather forigves thier mother for her sins, they will be able to come down from the attic, where they are made to stay. If i told you anymore, I wouldnt have to write this fanfiction lol.

But Id like to put out there, that all ideas are property of V.C Andrews and her ghostwriter. I take no credit for the ideas and characters I use in this story. I do not own any V.C Andrews story, character or anything else related. I also do not own anything that has to do with Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy, or any other Square Enix created universe.

Id also like to deticate this story to any of you who ever felt like they never belonged, and wished that somedays, they would be shut up in an attic.

It was Daddy's birthday, and we were both estatically excited. Roxy had dressed in his best suit, and he looked truly handsome in his pressed blue suit with his hair tamed and flat. I couldnt help but feel pride when I looked at him. Myself, I had decided to dress in a white dress with a blue satin sash around my waist. I curled my hair and they bouced beautifully around my face as I danced around my room, waiting for Daddy to come home.

But Momma looked best out of both of us. She was dressed in a blue periwinke gown, she had gone to the hairdressers earlier that day, and her nails were polished and rose colored and perfect looking. Momma was probably the most beautiful women I had ever seen in my life. I constantly imitated her, and acted as she did. I tried to hold my posture like she held hers, I bought the same make-up as her, but I never looked as beautiful as Momma did.

Daddy always, always came home at 7:00 on the dot, so Roxas and I hid behind the couch, I was careful not to let the hem of my dress touch the floor. The cake was set in the table, the roast turkey was cooking in the oven, and the wine for Momma and Daddy were chilled in an ice box.

Now all we had to do was wait. 7 o'clock came and went. Then 8, 9 and finally, at 10 o clock, Roxas saw a car pull into the drive way.

"Dad's home!" Roxas cried out. Him and I scuttled over to the couch and hid behind it, waiting for Daddy to fling open the door, drop his breifcase and shout, "Come greet me with kisses if you love me!"

But the door did not fling open, only a sturdy knock was issued on the door. Momma came out from the kitchen, obviously looking flustered. She answered the door.

Standing on the porch were two state officers in uniform. Fear started to pulse in my heart.

"Mrs. Dollanganger?" The burly looking officer said. Momma nodded.

"We regret to inform you that there was an accident. Your husband was driving and was hit by a drunk driver. His car flipped over and was set ablaze..." My world suddenly turned silent. Tears started to fall from my eyes.

Daddy was dead.
