Jedi Vs. Sith: The Other Side

'Sabers flash within the darkness,

One is red, the other blue

And I watch, alone and helpless

What that creature does to you.

I see you sway and waver,

Barely meeting his attacks

And I long to be your savior;

Fight this evil back to back.

But he has maimed and bound me

And I cannot rise to you.

I dread much the final sortie

When the Force recovers you.

Have I failed you, my Master?

Is it my fault that you fall?

I could have been a little faster,

Could have given you my all.

He strikes you down in silence

And you crumple to the floor,

This is not the end of violence,

He has still one Jedi more.

The Sith stands tall above me,

I stare at him from the ground,

With his boot he only shoves me,

Then he leers and turns around.

In that moment, as he left me

I vowed your memory to keep.

You are in my heart, my Master

And you watch me when I sleep.

But my tribute is not passive:

I sought the Sith and saw him through.

His payment was as massive

As the hurt he did to you.

The Council now has hailed me

As a champion and a Knight,

For your 'saber never failed me

As I fought my greatest fight.

It was not against that creature,

But the anger from within

And because of you, my teacher,

The Dark Side could not win.
