Recap: One of Scully's friends from the FBI academy, now working in the Violent Crimes Unit, asks her to assist him on a homicide investigation involving no clear point of entry. Mulder realizes that this is similar to a series of X-Files case that have occurred every thirty years, and joins in the investigation to stop the latest cycle.()

"Look," Colton commands, " at this point, I'm willing to give any theory a shot. Any sane theory." He corrects and turns toward us. "I'm sorry Dana, but I only want qualified members of the investigative team at this crime scene." he says and I notice the tone he's using. It's the ' you're beautiful and I still want to be on good terms with you but this is also how I want it' tone. I've used it with her before.
"What's the matter Colton, worried I'm gonna solve your case." I threaten.
Dana ignores my side comment.
"Tom," here she goes, "We have authorized access to this crime scene," in your face, "A report of you obstructing another officer's investigation might stick out in your personal file."
"Look, Dana, whose side are you on?" He leers.
"The victims." I smile at his dumfounded look. Perfect.
