Prompt: Emily tries to surprise Paige with a camping trip.
"Why did you want me to ask my parents if I could stay overnight?" Paige asked as she got into Emily's car.
"Because it's an overnight date," she answered with a smile on her face.
Paige was puzzled. "Don't worry, my parents know where we're going so it's okay," Emily reassured her girlfriend.
"And where are we going exactly?" Paige asked.
"You'll see," Emily said, in a sing-song way, smiling.
Paige tried to settle in her seat, but she couldn't get fully comfortable. She trusted Emily, but she didn't like not knowing where they were going, especially if it was overnight. What if she had brought the wrong items? "Do I get any clues?" she finally asked.
"Hmm," Emily said, considering the request. "I got inspired by one of our first dates."
Paige thought for a moment. She wasn't sure if Emily meant their first dates before they were officially dating, or after, when she had finally come out. After some more thought, she decided Emily meant way back when, but was still lost. It couldn't have to do with the rustic bar…
The picnic date? Paige looked at Emily then, sweeping her eyes over the girl's clothing. Emily was wearing a long-sleeve, button up plaid shirt, a warm looking sweater, jeans and boots. She also remembered the brunette asking her to bring warm pajamas and comfortable shoes. "Is it in the woods?" Paige asked, unsure.
"I need to learn to be sneakier," Emily replied.
Paige laughed. "Please, never ever become sneaky," she said.
Emily chuckled. She looked toward her right hand, that rested on the shift, when she felt Paige grab it. Emily looked from her hand toward her girlfriend when Paige said, quietly, "Don't ever change."
