This is a combination of two prompts I received, one of Emily being jealous and one of Emily being jealous of a McHastings friendship.

"You and Spencer have gotten awfully chummy," Emily said, trying to sound casual.

Paige, missing the tightness in Emily's voice, shrugged and said, "I think she's starting to come around. I should come to her rescue more often."

"So you'll be her knight in shining armor now?" Emily asked, still trying to sound casual, but not being as successful.

Paige frowned, having caught Emily's tense tone. "What's wrong?" she asked gently.

Emily shook her head. "Emily," Paige said softly but firmly.

She placed her finger under Emily's chin and gently lifted her head so the girl would look at her. "What's wrong?" she asked again.

Emily sighed. "It's just, it's dumb," she said.

"Nothing you say is dumb," Paige said, smiling her usual love struck smile.

Emily smiled and did a head dip reminiscent of a McCullers' head dip. She looked up, still feeling butterflies in her stomach, and asked, half-serious, half-joking, "You won't laugh?"

Paige was smiling, but she solemnly shook her head once. "Okay. I'm. It's just. You and Spencer really get along, which is great, but," Emily chuckled nervously. "This is harder than I thought it would be."

Paige squeezed her hand for support and waited. Emily took a deep breath and said, "I'm jealous of you and Spencer."

Paige blinked a couple of times. "What?" she finally asked.

"Don't make me say it again," Emily said.

"You're jealous? Of Spencer. And me?" Paige asked dumbfounded.

"You think it's dumb," Emily stated, mentally reprimanding herself.

"No, no. I don't. I just."

A big beaming smile spread on Paige's face. "Emily Fields is jealous. Emily Fields."

Emily laughed and playfully shoved Paige's shoulder. "I'm not that great," she said.

"You are," Paige replied, with stars bursting behind her eyes.
