"Zhanksgiving? Vat ist zhat?"

Liam cocked his head to the side curiously, staring down at the Engineer. Currently, she was stirring a large pot of mashed potatoes, a big smile adorning her face.

"Heh, that's right! I forgot that ya'll don't celebrate Thanksgiving in Germany…. Well, Thanksgiving is a special holiday we celebrate here in America. It's the one day out of the year that is set aside specifically for giving thanks! The usual tradition is to get together with family or close friends, eat a big meal, and tell each other what you are thankful for." Elizabeth replied cheerfully, flitting over to the oven to check on a pie she had baking there.

The Medic crossed his arms and leaned on the nearby wall, mulling over what the Engineer had said. Give thanks? What did he have to give thanks for? He was relatively poor, all of his family and friends most likely dead… his life was utter HELL!

….. Well…. it HAD been hell anyway….. Liam had to admit that his life had taken a turn for the better after being hired by Reliable Excavation Demolition. He never had to worry about paying any bills, having money to buy food, clothing, and other basic needs, and….. he had met Elizabeth. That was something he was IMMENSELY thankful for. The Medic smiled softly to himself, gazing lovingly at the little Engineer as she pranced around the kitchen.

Running over to fetch a large spoon, the Engineer hummed softly to herself. However, she squeaked in surprise as a pair of long arms enveloped her from behind and she looked up to see Liam smiling down at her. Grinning back at him, she asked the taller man, "What is it, hun?"

Liam gently laid his head atop of hers and calmly replied, "I finally realized vhat I am most zhankful for."

Glancing up at him curiously, Elizabeth said, "Oh, yeah? And what's that, darlin'?"

"You."

Blushing profusely, the smaller woman hugged onto his arms, completely at a loss for words as she thought about what the Medic had said. After a few moments of silence, the Engineer giggled lightly, turning around to hug Liam back, burying her face in his coat. "You're what I'm most thankful for as well….. I love you." she said, her reply slightly muffled.

Taking on a hue of red himself, the Medic wrapped his arms tighter around her small form. "I-Ich liebe dich auch…."

Suddenly breaking the tender moment, Elizabeth pushed the surprised Medic away. A giddy expression crossing her features, she pointed her spoon accusingly at him. "Now, you better let me get back to my cooking or I won't let ya have ANY of it, ya hear?"

A small bout of laughter escaped Liam's throat and he nodded his head in agreement, saying, "Alright, liebe, alright. I vill leave you to dein vork." And with that, he walked over to the table, taking a seat as he watched his Engineer get back to her task. He was starting to like this "Thanksgiving"…
