My first fic, a warm-up, please enjoy or not it's your choice

He continued to play with the tiny object in his pocket as a new wave of uncertainty rushed over him; he took in a breath of air and exhaled. A cool breeze nipped at his face as he stood there watching, waiting, time being prolonged as to torture this young soul. He turned his head upward towards the sky and stared at the pale gray heavens as snow began to fall, he did not turn when he noticed her presence,

"Neji what is it that you wanted to talk about?" she asked hands in the pockets of her navy blue coat.

He turned and stared at her. She wore a small cap and thus let her hair down into a single braid. The leaf headband was tied around her neck almost as it was a scarf of some sort. He stepped closer to her and soon their bodies touched each other. Neji bent down a little and whispered,

"Do you hate the cold?"

Tenten shivered as his warm breath trailed across her skin, grabbing his coat she leaned into him,

"I loathe the cold Neji, but for questions as simple as that couldn't it have waited until it stopped snowing? You could have just come to my house" she said staring out into the forest as she rested her head on him.

"I wanted you to come because you won't be returning to your apartment" his voice was void of any emotion. Tenten looked up at him,

"What are you talking about I'm freezing as it is, when you learn to talk clearly come and seek me but I'm not going to play your games out in the freezing cold, I'm gone" with that she turned to leave. Neji grabbed her hand and with a sudden jerk brought his arms around her,

"You won't be going home because I wish you to be with me, at the Hyuuga household were it is nice and warm, where we can watch the snow fall together"

Tenten's eyes were wide open her mouth hung a bit as she slowly turned back to the man embracing her. His grip loosened as he allowed her to turn and face him,

"Tenten I want to be with you forever and thus I ask you, are you willing to live your life alongside mine forever as well?"

Neji had pulled out the little black velvet box and opened it revealing a beautiful golden ring a small diamond stud in the middle. Tenten's eyes drifted from the man in front of her to the ring and for the first time she was speechless without having received a blow. So taken aback was she, that a minute had passed without a response. Her legs shook and her heart fluttered, she found out that words no longer were able to leave her mouth. Neji stared at her for her response and seeing as she was frozen touched her check with his free hand,

"Tenten? Do you accept or n-- "

Neji was caught off guard by her lips and she pressed them softly into his, her arms swung around his neck as she deepened the kiss. Tenten slowly broke away having stolen his breath and looked up to Neji,

"Yes Neji" she said her voice quiet but was content with the situation "I want to be with you forever"

With that the pair embraced once more and remained together from then on their warmth melted the coldest winters. Who knew that the next winter under the same gray sky another surprise would occur, a little surprise with white eyes.
