It's not that there's something wrong, it's just that, everything is so unusual. As you look around the world, new information floods into your brain, defining the names of everything your eyes focus on. Closet, doors, floor, carpet, shelf, walls, the list goes on. A pink-ish looking figure stands in front of you; it seems to have yellow on top of its head with a basic grey torso and legs.
"Hello LUPUS. My name is Fritz Smith." It – no, he – politely spoke. Hello's a greeting, isn't it? Was he talking to you? You're not sure who or what this 'LUPUS' is. Unsure of what to do you query 'Reply' into some kind of program apparently to support you through these early stages. The program sends back several different results and you pick the first one.
"N-nice to… meet you…. Fritz Smith." you reply, your voice takes you by some surprise; it sounds younger than Fritz's, and the accent is different.
"Hey, you have a British accent, wasn't expecting that." Fritz chuckled. British? Is that some sort of salad? No, wait, British refers to something from… the United Kingdom. Is that where you are?
"….who's… LUPUS?" you ask.
"You are." Fritz smiles. "Wanna try standing up?" Only then do you realise you have a torso and appendages. You slowly clench and unclench your fingers and few times, the experience feels exhilarating, but probably the sort where it'll quickly become somewhat mundane. As you slowly try to stand, you hear a faint whirring noise. You look around for the source of the noise, and realise it's coming from you.
By this point you now are properly standing, albeit not being able to stand up for very long. A grey figure is in front of you… wait… it's a mirror, light reflects off of mirrors, right? You look through the program again and find that all objects reflect and absorb certain aspects of light, creating the image of colour, and mirrors reflect it all, creating a mirror image. Your mirror image shows you what you look like; you have pointy ears on top of your grey head, the area around your mouth and nose is a lighter grey and extends from the face into a snout, your eyes are amber. You're wearing a red hoodie, blue jeans, and red sneakers. There is something on your back, which you quickly learn is a tail; it's roughly the same size as your arms. You reach out to touch the mirror and fall over. At that point you learn legs have use, one of which can be to walk. You get up again and walk over to the mirror. Your walking is wobbly and you almost fall over several times, but you manage to touch the mirror. It feels cold. You look at Fritz, who hugs you. Unsure of what a hug is, you repeat his actions. The hug feels nice, you like hugs. Fritz explains it's 'time for bed' and since you 'probably won't be able to know how to do it yet' he deactivates you for the time being.
