It's for the Prophecy, for peace. Webs kept repeating this to himself as he swam through the empty halls of the Seawing's underwater palace.

What will the queen think? Surely she'll know I'm the one that's stolen her egg for the prophecy. And after deserting her in battle… Webs shook himself back into focus. Even if she does know, I'll be long gone.

As he made the final turn, he felt a vibration shaking the water around him.

The guards must be asleep; their snores are the vibration Webs thought.

Sure enough, the five guards the queen had posted outside the hatchery were collapsed onto each other, snoring peacefully.

I wonder what will become of them. Coral was not the most merciful queen.

He slowly opened the door, and entered. There were four male eggs. Two were in the second stage while the others were in stage one. But Webs had his eye on the sole female egg, it was the bluest egg Webs had ever seen, it had to be the one.

Webs snatched the egg and turned to leave.

Wait a second… Webs thought, Wasn't the statue facing the door before?

The Queen's beloved statue was now facing the blue egg, claws outstretched. Webs squinted at it for a while, but finally gave up and exited the hatchery. He maneuvered through the halls, careful not to wake anyone. When he had made it out of the palace, he took one last glance at his home.

Before leaving, he flashed the stripes under his wings and waved one hand. And then said "Goodbye."
