She never did know what to call him.
"Boyfriend" seemed way to juvenile. Ron Weasley, with his childishness and his burping and his food addictions, was her "boyfriend".
"Lover" didn't work either. They didn't precisely love each other. Well, they did love each other, but not in the sappy give you flowers and hold your hand and give you little kisses in public love like she had with Draco Malfoy. Their love was deeper and simply… more.
It wasn't like he was her "Husband" either. It would be simpler if he was, actually. That way he would have a built-in title. But she agreed with him, marriage was for children and neither of them wanted children at the present so they didn't need to get married. Although she really did think it would be easier to simply get their "I do's" over with. It was obvious to everyone that they both did.
She always had this problem when introducing him to others. "This is Severus, my…". My what? My long lost cousin? My former Professor? My pizza delivery man? No simple words could describe how truly enamored she was with him, and he with her. No words could ever say what he meant to her.
Because… he was just simply… "Hers".
