By the morning light

Daniel walked down the street in the rain. The cold sting of tears in his eyes. She was dead, she is gone. Daniel ignored the cold rain that kissed his skin as he started to run lead only by the pain in his heart.

He ran until his legs burned as his lungs cried for air, slowly he came to a stop in the middle of the street. He dropped to his knees as he cried for his aching heart and his sudden loss.

"Why did you take her from me?!" Daniel cried at the gray sky, he didn't even hear the car speeding towards him.

All Daniel heard was the screech of tires and the last thing he felt was the cold metal smashing into him. He lay on the ground due to the impact and stared up into the unforgiving sky as the rain blinded his vision. He heard muffled voices asking him if he was ok, but Daniel didn't bother to answer those voices. He felt his life leave him as he struggled to breathe.

Suddenly a light shone above Daniel and a very familiar voice drifted through the air, "Daniel……take my hand…." The voice said lightly as a hand reached down to him, "it's time to go." The voice said as daniel reached up, the face became clear, "Janet?" Daniel asked as he took her hand, "I'm here, please…come with me." Janet said as she pulled him up, leaving his physical body behind.

"So this is it? I'm dead for real?" Daniel asked as he and janet walked hand in hand to the heavenly gates, "I'm afraid so daniel, this is it." Janet said her voice with a hint of sadness, "But we will be together right?" daniel asked hopefully as janet nodded, "of course…you get to meet my dad." Janet said with a smile, "I hope he likes me….after all I do plan on marrying his daughter." Daniel said as janet stopped walking, "you what?" Janet asked as she smiled.

Daniel kneeled in front of her, "I may not have a ring but, janet will you do me the honor of being my wife?" daniel asked as he smiled. Tears slipped down janets cheeks as she nodded her head, daniel stood up and kissed her passionately, "Now this is heaven." Janet said as the walked through the gates.

Two souls combined forever more.
