IT STILL FITS

"Where is it?" Virgil snapped in frustration as Alan watched on.
"You've been scouring that old chest of belongings ever since we got back from Mars. Looking for anything in particular?" he asked.
"Dad's old shirt, the one I told you about, I'm certain Grandma didn't throw it out, she kept everything he touched" Virgil replied.
"The flamingo shirt? Grandma still had it?" Alan inquired.
"She has everything in here, all the little things we mentioned. There's even an old pancake recipe in here. Dad always wanted to teach us how to make them" Virgil replied.
"Wow, so I needn't have worried about forgetting him after all...all this time, the details were all here"
"You should worry less about what we forget, especially after meeting Captain Taylor again" said Virgil
"Yeah, ain't that the truth Vinny" Alan remarked.
"Poor form Alfred" joked Virgil
"Hey, poor form is pretending to run out of air over the com system, don't ever scare me like that again. I was already mourning one Tracy that day" said Alan.
"You're right, that was sort of dumb on my end, but I was just trying to relieve the tension surrounding the situation" Virgil explained.
Alan stared at the clock and realized it was getting late.
"I'd better turn in for the night, you going to make finding that shirt your mission statement for the evening?" Alan asked.
"I'll rest easy when I not only find it, but wear it" he said.
Alan nodded and headed off, as he made his way to the bedroom he walked past Kayo, who had just gotten out of bed to make herself some cereal, she gently waved to him.
Alan couldn't help but notice she was wearing a flamingo shirt, which overrided the fact she was wearing very little else.
He glanced back over to the lounge area where Virgil was preoccupied with scouring the contents of Grandma's old chest of Jeff Tracy memorabilia, completely oblivious to the fact Kayo was wearing that which he sought and making her way in and out of the kitchen with a fresh bowl of rice crispies, eventually heading back to her own bedroom.
Alan was tempted to tell Virgil, but then he remembered that Virgil was due some karma for deceiving him over on Mars, so he chose not to say anything for now.
At least he could take satisfaction in knowing one detail about his 'find'.
It still fits.
