There's An Owl In My Bacon

Remus hates Valentines Day.

He doesn't see why everyone is so chipper about it; it's rather horrid really. The way it sneaks up on you and when you're least expecting it yells "BOO!" in your ear. Or rather, an owl sneaks up behind you, screeches "HOOT!" in your ear and drops something hard and rectangular on your bacon. Now he has a package ruined by oily food and oily food ruined by a package. He knows which one's he's most upset about.

He glares at it for a while before carefully separating the two and peeling off the stained heart-printed paper. It would be embarrassing if Sirius' mountain-like pile of similar packages weren't distracting the gaze of anyone who cared to glance over at them. He takes off the wrapping, and looks inside.

It's a box of chocolates.

A box of his favourite chocolates. Dark and rich and sweet, he keeps a box of exactly the same ones in a hidden compartment in his trunk so Sirius, James and Peter don't get to them. He wonders vaguely who it's from and looks about him for any signs of a card. The owl is finishing off the last of his bacon but nothing else is in his breakfast. He smiles and opens the box, chocolates are rather a lot nicer than bacon in his opinion. However there are no chocolates to be seen, only a solitary piece of parchment.

Messrs. Prongs, Padfoot and Wormtail would like to express their gratitude towards Messr. Moony for his generous donation to their stomachs. They also hope he enjoys his empty box.

Signed,

Prongs, Padfoot and Wormtail.

Remus looks up and glares at the three boys sitting around him. Sirius and James burst out in raucous laughter and Peter giggles along nervously.

"Happy Valentine's Day!" Sirius says, grinning.

Remus hates Valentines Day so much.

A/N: Right well, I just wrote that then. I wanted to write a nice long James/Lily fic for today but alas, homework would not allow it. So instead here is a Valentine's Day fic with NO PAIRINGS WHATSOEVER. I am such a rebel.

I hope you enjoyed this! Please leave a review; if you do I shall give you an empty box. If you're lucky it might have a piece of parchment in it :D

Oh and PS. I had NO IDEA what to title this. So yeah, there's an owl in my bacon. :))

(EDIT: It has recently come to my attention that I was spelling "bacon" as "beacon." :/ it's all better now though!)
