Ginny couldn't sleep. She kept hearing someone pacing downstairs in the common room. She got up and crept downstairs so she didn't wake up the other girls in her room. The hardwood stairs made her feet cold. She got to the bottom and saw Harry Potter pacing and chewing his fingernails. He stopped at looked at her.

"Hey, couldn't sleep?" Harry said sitting down and rubbing his forehead.

"Yeah, you?" she asked, sitting next to him on the couch next to the lit fire.

"I didn't even try," Harry said sighing. Ginny nodded and tucked her legs up under her for comfort. "Want to help me find something?" he added as an afterthought.

"Find what?" Ginny asked, this was gaining her curiosity.

"There's something in the room where we meet for Dumbledore's Army meetings. I have to find it. Do you want to help?" Harry said with a smile.

"Sure, what do you have to find?" she asked.

"I'm not exactly sure, but I'll know it when I see it," Harry said standing up and taking her hand. Ginny didn't even think about the fact that they were sneaking out. They snuck out of the portrait hole with a suspicious look from the Fat Lady, but they ignored her. They crept around corners and across the stairs. They both knew the way, so they just silently ran. They reached the room and Ginny stood next to Harry as he closed his eyes and Ginny watched as the door appeared. They walked in and Ginny was shocked. There were boxes and shelves everywhere. There were cedar chests and cardboard boxes and little jewelry boxes with dancing ballerinas inside. There were all sorts of boxes. They all held one little ring. All of the rings in the boxes looked different. Harry was walking around looking at the rings. Ginny supposed that he wanted one.

"Are you looking for one of the rings? Which one?" Ginny asked.

"It's silver, and has vines and leaves circling around it," Harry said without looking at her. Ginny nodded even though he wasn't looking, and kept looking in the boxes. "You can keep any one you like, no one's coming for them," he added as an afterthought.

"Thanks," Ginny said trying on a gold ring with a ruby in the middle. She kept looking through boxes keeping the ring on her pointer finger. She looked in a silver box with an inside of midnight blue velvet. She opened the box gingerly and saw no ring.

"Harry, this box has no ring," Ginny said suspiciously.

"What?" Harry was curious, so he walked over and she handed him the box. He started brushing his fingers along the blue velvet, until he found a tear. He peeled the velvet back and it revealed the ring. It was the silver ring with the vines and leaves. He smiled and looked at Ginny, she smiled too. He picked the ring up and held it to the light. He took out his wand, mumbled a spell under his breath, and the ring turned into an engagement ring. Ginny was shocked. It was simple, but the most beautiful thing she'd ever seen. Harry looked sad when he changed it.

"What's wrong?" Ginny asked.

"This was my mother's wedding ring. Dumbledore told me it ended up here, and I wanted to find it," Harry answered gingerly holding the ring. He put it in his pocket.

"Let's go, this is all I wanted," Harry said.

"Wait," Ginny said.

"What?" Harry turned around. Ginny didn't reply, but she walked up and kissed him. He put the ring in his pocket without looking and kissed back. He held her hands and they stood there kissing. Harry pulled away.

"Ginny, it means a lot that you came," Harry told her.

"I'd do anything for you," she replied, blushing at what she'd said. Harry smiled and kissed her again.
