Chapter 1
From the mind of Rachel Berry:
It's just another day at McKinley High: Slushies, torture, hatred, nothing special. After I realized getting back together with Finn was simply hopeless, I am now attracted to every boy that I see, including the hot one walking my way.
"Hey, where's Glee club rehearsal?" He asks me.
Yes! A patron of the musical arts! I might just have a shot at this guy!
"It's down the hall, first door to your left." I reply.
When I enter the choir room with a list of possible songs to breakout and sing today, I see Kurt (he's back!) sitting next to the hot guy… laughing… their arms around each other… This can't be good.
"Hey Kurt! Welcome back!" Mr. Shue says as he's walking in. "I see you've brought someone special!"
"Yes Mr. Shue, I have. This is Blaine… my boyfriend. He made the school transfer with me. That place wasn't for me. They didn't give us enough wardrobe freedom. But, I'm glad to be back!"
Kurt's words kept playing over and over in my head: Boyfriend…my boyfriend. It seems like everyone can get a good relationship but me! Even the homosexual ones! It's not that I have anything against homos; they raised me. The chances of one gay guy meeting another and them being compatible is rare. I am hopelessly doomed.
Chapter 2
In times like these, I like to look at competition. It gives me a way to focus on what really matters to me: being a star! In this case, my competition is Vocal Adrenaline seeing how Regionals are coming up.
I got to the Carmel High Auditorium. They're really good. It makes me kind of nervous for New Directions. Then, something catches my eye. A student. I recognize his voice, his dancing… no, it can't be. Jesse St. James! What on earth is he doing here? He was a senior last year!
He looks up as I watch him to see me staring dumbly at him. I wipe the look off of my face and smile at him. Bad move. He could tell my mom. I'm in trouble. But something surprises me. He smiles back. When we were dating, we had this hand signal thing saying "Meet me at the auditorium." It helped us with our secret love story. I nodded so he would know I still remembered. What could he possibly want?
Chapter 3
After my mom dismissed Vocal Adrenaline, I snuck backstage and saw Jesse smiling at me. That was the first time I saw him so that since he turned on us and went back to Vocal Adrenaline.
"Hey Rachel."
His voice was a soft blanket wrapping around my body… It felt so good to hear him talk to me lovingly. Memories of when we were together started filling my head. The times we sang together with our voices in perfect harmony.
"Hey. What did you want to talk to me about?"
"How are things with you and Finn working out?"
"We… um… broke up." Why was he asking these things?
"That's great. I missed you."
Jesse held his arms out wide. It was like a magnetic force was pulling me closer and closer to him. I couldn't pull away. I didn't want to pull away. His hugs always lifted my spirits.
The words "I love you Jesse" slipped from my lips. I didn't take back what I said. I meant it. When I made my "Run Joey Run" video, I regretted it immediately as he pulled his arms away from mine. It killed me to this day.
"I love you too."
This was the perfect ending to my day. I found love again. I'm happy. Jesse and I are going out to Breadsticks on Friday. I can't wait!
Stuff that in your butt, Finn.
