"Ahhh," Thomas screamed as Jamison threw him out the door. It was raining wild! And lightning was thrashing onto the ground. Thomas froze as the monster that killed his parents fell from the sky. Suddenly a bolt hit the area right next to him. Next another one and then another. He fell on the dirt hard. Thomas couldn't move, in his head thoughts of Kira kept on rushing in. He was so worried about her. Suddenly one bolt hit behind him. "I better get out of here." So he ran all the way to an empty field were he lay. Hands on his head.
Kira sat in the closet worried and frightened. She had no clue where Thomas was and she didn't know what Jamison was going to do to her. She started to cry. Then she heard a voice it was Jamison's. "We can get a new craver! This one was not that gifted!""No! He was special! I do not think we will find one like him anywhere else! Go get him!" "Okay," Jamison mumbled. Kira thought when he finds Thomas he might hurt him or worse. Kira stumbled out of the closet and yelled to the council "I'll look for him!" She couldn't believe what she had said! The council said, "If you wish to you may go but it may be dangerous. We don't want to lose another worker." Kira mumbled, "Like you would care." So she took her walking stick and walked out of the building. When she got outside it was raining uncontrollably. She heard thunder and lightning. Kira shivered she knew that lightning had killed Thomas's parents. How was he handling this? She hoped he was okay. Kira walked all through town yelling his name "Thomas! Thomas!" but she got no answer. She limped her way through the rigorous storm. "Thomas, where are you!" she screamed at the top of her lugs but still no answer. Kira fell on the dirt and started to cry. "I'll never find him!" she said miserable.
"Kira?" Thomas said. He looked up and saw her lying on the ground. He got up and ran. "Kira, it's me, Thomas!" He got up and ran to Kira. He picked her up. "Kira! Kira!" She wouldn't respond. "Thomas?" Kira said weakly. "Thomas, your okay!" she said. "Yeah, I'm fine. What about you?" "I'm fine." She got up and said, "Come on, Thomas, let's get back to the council." Kira started to walk. Thomas grabbed her hand. "Kira, I can't go back," Thomas said. "Thomas, they want you back! They were going to send Jamison to get you but I went instead," Kira told him. "But when we get back won't Jamison hurt us? Look what happened!" "Thomas, I think we have to go! We have to help these people!" Kira said. "Yeah, we do." Thomas agreed. They stood up and left.
