Help Me Cope
Chapter One: You're Safe Now
Someone grabs me from behind. There is a large hand covering my mouth, muffling my screams. I struggle against the arms holding me. A piece of dark fabric is place over my eyes and tied behind my head.
"Let me have my way with her before you take her to the boss," says a scratchy voice.
The arms holding me lift me. I'm thrown onto the hard ground as a door closes. My arms are lifted above my head and my blindfold is taken off. Even though my eyes have already adjusted to the dark, I cannot see who is hold me down.
The hand covering my mouth moves down to stroke my bare legs. My skirt is pulled off, further revealing my legs.
No, he's not going to do this to me. Percy will come and help me before he gets too far, I tell myself.
He pulls off my remaining clothes, leaving me bare on the cold floor. His warm hand gropes my chest. I flinch as he grabs my chest. His hand leaves my chest and he pulls off his own pants.
I scream for Percy to help me, but no one comes. I scream until my throat is raw.
Just as he is about to enter me, the door bursts open.
"Annabeth!" Percy cries.
He pulls the man off me and throws him against the wall. He pulls me into his arms and runs from the room, leaving my attacker unconscious on the cold floor.
I press my head into his shoulder as he carries me through the night.
Suddenly, I feel myself softly drop onto what feels like a bed. I quickly place my hands over my eyes.
"Annabeth, are you alright?"
Percy tries to pry my hands away from my eyes. I don't let him.
"Annabeth, honey, you're safe now."
Hearing from him convinces me it's true. I slowly pull my hands away from my face. I look at the concerned look on Percy's face. Hot tears brim my eyes. A lone tear rolls down my cheek. Percy leans down and kisses it away. He pulls the thin white sheet over me.
"I'll get an extra blanket," he says as he turns away. He is trying to stay strong, but his voice cracks on the last word.
I close my eyes and try to push away the memories of earlier.
I feel Percy drop a light blanket on me.
He sits down on the bed and leans down to me.
"Go to sleep now, Annabeth. I'll keep you save," he whispers.
I believe him.
I know it's not very long, but it just sets the scene for the rest of the story. I hope you enjoyed it! Please review!
