Romulus stepped through the woods, hands in his jeans pockets. Something about that girl. Something about that girl caught his heart in a landslide. He wasn't usually like this, so he didn't even understand his own feelings. He looked up at the night sky, partially hidden by the trees, thinking on his past, looking for a time he ever felt this way. None. He walked just inside of the woodline, and he could see a small flame. Must've been Heath, at her house. He silently wished that it was him, rather than the flame-head. Romulus looked at the moon and kept walking, eventually letting out a sad howl, as he realized he loved her but missed his chance. He stepped out of the woodline, taking one last look back at her house. He froze, his heart throbbing at the sight. Her house was on fire. His instincts kicked in and he ran as fast as he could, running straight into the burning flames. Which way? He coughed in the smoke and ran up the steps, shouting,

"ABBEY!" He heard a small sounding reply and busted down the door that hid it, seeing her blue skin turn pink with warmth of the flames. That was a horrible sign. How long had the house been burning? He pulled her into his arms, quickly getting out of the house and falling to his knees in the street, her motionless in his arms.

"Abbey?..." When she didn't move, he only then noticed the tears falling from his cheeks onto her light blue skin. He closed his eyes tightly and shouted with rage, the shout turning into a loud howl. He stopped in mid-howl when he felt a cool hand gently wipe the tears from his cheek, then he looked down as the hand lingered.

"Romy.. saved Abbey.. thank you." He smiled lightly with relief that she was alright, then he said,

"What happened, Abbey?" She stopped, as if trying to remember, then she looked off to the side,

"Heath came over. Heath asked to date. Told him no, heart already belongs to someone. Got angry and turned flame, flame lit house, Heath ran out. Wasn't fast enough to freeze all flames. Got hot and blacked out." The scare of almost being burned alive brought tears to her eyes, and Romulus had a look in his eyes that showed the heartbreak he felt when she said her heart belonged to someone else.

"Heart belongs to Romy. Would never date Heath. You are only guy needed." They both shared a smile, and he pulled her close, kissing her cold lips roughly and sweetly, relieved to know that she loved him as much as he loved her.
