One Rainy Night
Yuna wants something…something more…someone other than him.
Sure, she loves him. She loves everything about him. She couldn't imagine what it would be like if the Fayth took him away again.
But she can't ignore the screaming inside. She can't ignore what her dreams are telling her.
So she leaves him in his bed sleeping, oblivious to what's happening, oblivious to where his love's about to go and what she's about to do.
Yuna ran up the steps to the home, and knocked as quietly as possible. She didn't want to wake anybody in the nearby homes. If anyone saw her…and they told him…he would question her…and she would have to tell him…
She didn't even want to think about it.
But no one would see her, and it'd be just this one night. No one else would have to know and she'd still have him. Everything would be just like it was before…right?
After about 2 minutes of silence, Yuna saw a light switch on.
"Who is it?" a tiny voice called.
"It's me. Open up." Yuna called.
The door opened to reveal a semi-dressed Rikku.
"I'm sorry Rikku. I know it's late but… can I come in?" Yuna asked.
"Of course you can Yunie." Rikku signaled Yuna to follow her into her room.
"Is everything ok Yunie?" Rikku asked after they had seated themselves on her bed.
Yuna turned towards her. "You wouldn't mind if I spent the night, would you?"
"Of course I wouldn't mind! It'd be like cousin's night out!"
Yuna smiled at her. "Rikku, just for this one night…"
Rikku leaned her head in so that their faces were just about a centimeter apart. "Yes?"
"Can we pretend that we're not cousins?" Yuna asked dreading the answer.
Rikku thought it over a moment and finally answered.
" I was hoping you'd ask that."
And they kissed.
And he would never have to know…
