Fear and panic in the air
I want to be free
From desolation and despair
He couldn't go anywhere without seeing them, the three things he hated most - war, hatred and death. He never meant to be a hero, but no matter where he went, how far he travelled, trouble was never far behind, and he would always save the day. It would always be a happy ending.
Until now.
And I feel like everything I saw
Is being swept away
Well I refuse to let you go
He'd stopped the feud between the Daleks and Cybermen, and there was peace on Earth again. Well, for a little while anyway, until the next enemy came along. But it didn't matter now.
None of it mattered now she was gone.
I can't get it right
Get it right
Since I met you
Nothing had ever been the same since that day he met her. Rose. Such a beautiful name. But oh, how it pained him to say it, even think of it. When he met her that day in London, his life had meaning again. He'd have other friends and companions for a while, then they'd leave him, and go back to their normal lives. And he'd be alone again, just him and the TARDIS.
But she was different.
Rose Tyler, defender of the Earth. How many lives had she saved? She was so caring, so kind, always willing to put others first, even if it meant danger, or death….
Now he was alone again.
Loneliness be over
When will this loneliness be over
No doubt that, in time, he'd find someone else. But for now, his only thoughts were of her. Rose.
Life will flash before my eyes
So scattered and lost
I want to touch the other side
He was old, and he'd lived so many lives. Travelling the universe, dancing among the stars. But now, none of that mattered anymore.
None of it mattered now that she was gone.
It hurt most of all, that she was taken from him, and he could never reach her again. She was taken from him, the Oncoming Storm, the man with 10 faces and two hearts. The reluctant God. How was it possible, that even he, couldn't have what he wanted? He'd saved the world again, and what had he got to show for it? Two broken hearts, and an empty TARDIS.
And no one thinks they are to blame
Why can't we see
That when we bleed we bleed the same
The Time Lords had always been superior, the master race compared to humans. But despite his regenerations and two hearts, there was a large part of him that was very much human. And even now, that part ached, raw and bleeding, without her.
Had he gotten used to the warm, glowing feeling he felt in her presence? It seemed so, as now he only felt cold and broken inside. He'd never felt this way when his other companions had gone, but then again, none of his other companions had been Rose Tyler.
I can't get it right
Get it right
Since I met you
Now here he was, all alone in his blue box. Perhaps this was it, how he'd spent the rest of his days - drifting through time and space, with only his memories for company. He didn't care, it wasn't like anything mattered anymore. The Earth, his precious Earth, could carry on with life again, safe from Daleks and Cybermen and anything else.
But he couldn't.
Not without her.
